I have. Never ended up with diarrhea either. I guess it must have been because I was in the mountains.

You are right. Nobody ever gets sick from drinking local water in Mexico... which is why all traveling agencies and insurance companies as well as the locals tell you not to do it.

On topic: my point has been that you don't need to spend 11,000 to have great tasting coffee. And trust that there is a difference in coffee. Just that if you smoke you might not tell the difference between cheap and quality. But then sometimes quality coffee coffee isn't prepared well either. I know of a place that does that.

Starbucks? Don't they double roast most of their beans which is were that burnt flavor comes from. Sad that they control most of the market in the USA now. Even local shops that have to compete with the neighborhood Starbucks, Gets interesting since many of them are buying from Starbucks subsidiaries and basically buying and reselling Starbucks coffee, sometimes without knowing it.

Interesting perspective. Yea I'm not fond of Starbucks coffee. Their market is selling espresso tasting coffee and surgary drinks. Although given that I do like a good espresso sometimes I do prefer Starbucks over others. Thanks for bringing that up. My point about tastes in coffee. Try Starbucks, Seattle's Best, and McDonald's coffee. Compare the regular coffee, then their darker coffee. You should taste a difference.

There's a difference between mountain water from proper wellsand sources and open nature water where animals have been defecating and dying. one is about as clean as water gets, the other, marginally better than you average American tap water.

Yep. Some people will never be able to figure that out though.
