CLEVELAND - A woman caught on camera driving on a sidewalk to avoid a Cleveland school bus that was unloading children will have to stand at an intersection wearing a sign warning about idiots.

Court records show a Cleveland Municipal Court judge on Monday ordered 32-year-old Shena Hardin to stand at an intersection for two days next week. She will have to wear a sign saying: "Only an idiot drives on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus."

The judge ordered her to wear the sign from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. both days.

Hardin's license was suspended for 30 days and she was ordered to pay $250 in court costs.

Not that I find it offensive or anything, but I'm surprised this is allowed.

I find it pretty funny actually. Now I find the whole stop behind a school bus that's unloading children absolutely retarded (no other country has this and kids aren't dying on the streets), but it's still the law. Driving on the sidewalk? That's also against the law and well pretty dam idiotic.

So two major infractions and all she got was a 30 day suspension and has to wear a sign for two hours? Sorry this wasn't some small mistake that she did on accident. It was a moronic and dangerous decision.

Canada does, it prevents retards from over taking the bus when children could be crossing the road in front of the bus. And lots of kids have died from this scenario, thats why the law was put in place..

Then those retards (which I agree that they are) shouldn't have been allowed on the road in the first place. I can't speak of other drive tests at other DMVs but I know the one in Daytona Beach is about the easiest thing in the world. It's closed course, you get in your car, stop at a light, stop at a stop sign, show that you can signal correctly and that's it. No parking, no traffic nothing.

It doesn't have to be a law, it should just be common sense. But then again coming to a stop at a stop sign is too difficult for a lot of people in this country and you end up with stuff like this: http://www.wfaa.com/home/Caught-on-Tape-Roanoake-177177461.html

But apologies for Canada so I'll rephrase it to most other countries.

you never seen kids walk left off a bus?

I have but if you read on I said there are other countries where kids walk off school buses (or even regular public transportation) and cross the road just fine without being run over.

It doesn't have to be a law, it should just be common sense.

Edit: Sorry I just realized that my original post came out kindoff stupid. I meant to say that I think it's retarded that it needs to be a law to prevent people doing that. But I can no longer edit that post so this counts as that edit lol.

If the municipality, county or state has an "Alternative Sentencing" law on the books judges have a wide discretion in such matters. Some of them are so creative people take up 'court watching' for the entertainment value. Our city is one such area, and a couple of the judges in its.court are masters of the art.

I saw a news crew interview her mother, who was in the car at the time the video was taken. She complained that the bus stops to pick up a handicap child and it takes forever. So, instead of going one street over and avoiding the long delay, this idiot chooses to jump on the sidewalk. Both, the driver and her mom, are complete idiots.

Public humiliation is the way to go for non-violent crimes like this. You're -really- not likely to do it again if you're going to end up being shamed in front of the entire community. Well, not unless you're a complete sociopath, anyway.

It kinda harkens back to the old days of putting minor criminals in the village stocks and pelting them with garbage. :p

From what I read, on the teletext, she did this daily.

I think the judge was not harsh enough.

If this had happened in Britain, she would have been fined at least ?800, given 200 hours community service (if not locked up) and banned for at least 3 years.

She got off lightly.

I personally would have put her in prison for 2 years and banned her from driving for ever.

I find the ease of which and the you age you can get a drivers license in America horrifyingly scary.

it's rumored she did not have insurance for that alone she should have lost her license for at least 180 days and for the crime she did commit she should have lost it permanently, as it could have resulted in deaths of children. She should have also been forced to wear the sign and walk around with that on her for 3 months as well as having to help at children's charities.

    • iPhone 18 Pro drop-test video and photos leak on the dark web following a data breach by Hamid Ganji iPhone 17 Pro - Image via Apple Apple is seemingly facing one of the biggest data breaches in its history, and just a few months before the official debut of the iPhone 18 Pro series, photos, a drop-test video, a supplier list, and key phone components have reportedly been leaked by hackers. Last week, we reported that Tata Electronics, an Apple supplier and iPhone producer in India, was hit by a data breach. As a result, it was reported that more than 200,000 trade secrets and confidential documents belonging to Apple and Tesla were stolen by the ransomware group World Leaks. According to Reuters, the group has now leaked supplier lists, component details, and photos of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models on the dark web. One of the materials leaked by the hackers is a drop-test video of the iPhone 18 Pro, which is due to launch this September. The phone is shown in a gray color and has the same familiar design we saw on last year's iPhone 17 Pro series. The device also appears to be quite durable, though it seems to be thicker than last year's model. One possible explanation is that Apple may be using a larger battery in the iPhone 18 Pro series. Moreover, Reuters says it has seen at least six documents mapping many components in the iPhone 18 Pro models to their respective suppliers, including details on chips on the main circuit board and on battery and camera components. The documents reportedly detail hundreds of parts that will be used in the iPhone 18 Pro models. A person familiar with the matter told the outlet that Apple classifies this data as sensitive and “is concerned about the documents being shared on the dark web as they relate to unreleased models.” Apple is reportedly investigating the issue but has yet to issue an official statement.
    • You do you, I've just said that it first appeared in "home" version before it will be available in "work" one. I use Edge only because it still supports MV2 uBO extension even on Android - I'll switch when they stop.
    • I imagine that was a review or something? My reviews mostly contain a lot of images and galleries, but these are all webp too, but yeah it all adds up on the page load. Would help if you were more helpful with your critique instead of bitching and moaning like a Karen 😂 Because then we might be able to fix it for you.
    • If Valve refused to let them make the case, I wonder if they've already partnered with someone else to do it? The fact that they didn't seek permission/licence before diving straight in is incredible though
