Landed on mine this morning. It's very nice.

The swipe keyboard works much better than I expected.

Multiuser switching is also fantastic. Makes sharing the tablet with the wife much easier.

Yeah, I got it yesterday as well. Lovely update. The new keyboard replaced Swype for me, just as I thought it couldn't get any better. It feels so ancient to use my iPhone now that I'm used to the Nexus 7... can't wait for N4 restock!

Unless you have installed some custom ROM or a different kernel you should still get the automatic update even if it's rooted.

I didn't get the update yet either on my non rooted Nexus7.

found this http://www.theverge.com/2012/11/13/3639462/galaxy-nexus-android-4-2-ota-download and updated successfully.

I bought my Nexus a week ago and love it! I've checked for updated daily including today and it doesn't find this update. I don't know why, are they limiting it to certain parts of the country or something?

Yep, I got the OTA yesterday evening. It's a nice update.

  • I love the lockscreen widgets - it's half baked now, but it has great potential. Can't wait to see third party apps on the lockscreen.
  • I also love the new clock - no more third party apps for stopwatch/timer, and love the clock design
  • I also love daydream - nice to have my clock displayed while the device is charging. Wish they sold docks like the HP Touchpad had. Come on ASUS/Samsung, use those freaking pogo pins!
  • Keyboard is nice - gesture swipes are nice to have. Personally I won't use it that much, as I wasn't really into Swype, but it's nice to have on the stock keyboard.
  • Haven't tried the camera, as the apps isn't available on the Nexus 7. Will try it on my Galaxy Nexus, once it hits CyanogenMod

Android is really evolving, even with minor updates.

It restores the shortcut to activate the camera.

Cool, thanks. I installed it to the N7, unfortunately, I left it at home, so will check it later.

    • XBOX is at the end of its generational life cycle and wasn't selling much anyway. They need to figure out the pricing for XBOX Helios. However, I'm not buying the DRAM shortage with AI preferring HBM. I think it's industry gouging.
