It's embarrassing enough when something bad happens to you if there are people around to witness it, but take that to another level: Imagine getting arrested in front of a news crew while you're being interviewed. That's exactly what happened to 18-year-old Reilly Neuklis, who was arrested shortly after the car he was driving collided with a school bus on Tuesday afternoon.

Local ABC affiliate WBND reporter Jessie McDonough was interviewing Neuklis about the crash when an officer arrested him for being possibly under the influence of marijuana. Apparently, a tipster alerted police at the scene that Neuklis may have thrown out drug paraphernalia in a nearby trash can after he hit the bus.

After the officer located the drug paraphernalia, he displayed it for the camera and explained to Neuklis, "In Indiana, it is illegal to have metabolites in your system while you are driving." The interview was cut short, and the officer took Neuklis to the hospital to be tested for drugs. One other student who had been in the car with Neuklis was injured and taken to the hospital, but no one else reported injuries.

Unfortunately for Neuklis, his embarrassment will now live on not just as a bad memory, but also in YouTube infamy.

LEGALIZE POT NOW!!! FTW!!! YEA!!!

I'm mean we don't have enough impared drivers on the road as it is....

...and yet somehow this guy was on the road in a state where it is illegal and caused the accident.

Legalization is not causation.

After all my grandmothers father was killed back during Prohibition...by a drunk driver.

Did the fact that it was illegal save his life? Evidently not.

I'm laughing at all the people calling the cop an idiot for saying metabolites and saying he obviously meant cannabinoids. They don't seem to realize what metabolites are...

I mean yes I realize that all sorts of things result in metabolites, but I think he was trying to keep it low-key because the camera was still on.

He really should have waited a moment though, because this will likely be viewed as prejudicial since it airs long before any judgment and now has a nationwide audience.

I don't see the reason for anti-pot legalization coming beck an call for this. If your drinking while driving and you get in a accident your arrested. The same would apply to pot, they just need a way to test "highness". Lol.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. When an officer fails to use correct terminology, especially on camera, then he deserves any ridicule he gets.

In Washington they do have a method, which is a blood test. The problem is the limit they have set doesn't match the actual impairment values...so something needs to be done about that.

This doesn't say if the drugs test came back positive or not.

If it comes back negative, that officer is going to look like a complete dick really.

That's true, but he was just doing his job. Better safe than sorry, a rule this kid possibly wasn't smart enough to abide by if he was high.

The thing is that he referred to metabolites, which is the correct term when referring to what they test for to detect the level of intoxication. He didn't use the wrong word at all.

He used a more discrete term that can refer to multiple things rather than stating openly which drug was in use...

Metabolites is a broad and very generic term though. He specifically stated "it is illegal to have metabolites in your system while you are driving", which isn't correct. Everyone has metabolites in their systems at all times. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metabolite

I know what metabolites are...

My point was I think he was using that term to avoid specifically naming a substance on the news since it would need to be tested and positively identified first.

I also pointed out I feel he made a bad move performing that particular arrest on TV knowing it would air before court due to whole prejudicial thing.

yes there is a reason to block legalization. Legalization will increase the number of overall users, there by increasing the number of impared drivers. It's not rocket science.

But whatever.

For that reason then you might as well block any sort of fatty foods since fat can cause a heart attack...thus anyone who eats anything with fat may kill someone if they have a heart attack behind the wheel.

Just because some people are stupid doesn't mean we need to make things illegal. Otherwise we need to make alcohol illegal, smoking illegal, and various other things as well.

I can't tell you the number of times I've seen an accident caused by someone not watching the road while lighting a cigarette. Heck I actually had someone hit me on my bike one time while doing that. Luckily they didn't hit me hard enough to hurt me, other than a torn pair of jeans and a badly skinned knee.

I made sure their hood felt my fist though...

The point being still police intoxicated drivers yes...but don't make something illegal just because it can lead to something bad...otherwise life has to be ended since it is the ultimate cause of bad things. :p

Fat in food is not the same as intoxicating one's self with pot. You smoke it right? That's why you argue for legalization.

Weed will make you stupid bro. Toke it every day, after a bit you are stupider than before.

Actually I waited until I was 30 and only occasionally for my Degenerative Disc Disease.

BTW the only connection between weed and stupidity is with underage use. Once the brain is fully formed there is no connection. More damage happens with alcohol.

I'm not any more or less stupid than before. I'm still highly intelligent and able to process information just fine.

Usually any weird posts you see from me are from my phone while I'm on the go. I don't proofread those as carefully.

You're right though...weed is not the same as fat. You are more likely to die from bad dietary habits.

Good I hate stoners driving, if it's not okay for me to have a glass of whiskey while I'm driving, then what makes them think is it okay to smoke a joint while driving?

The only time I liked it was when a pot head who was smoking a joint while driving rear ended a tractor trailer, while it was stopped at a red light and I was in the other lane beside the trailer laughing so hard, the best part was the TT driver didn't even notice his trailer was hit and proceeded to leave once the light turned green, the guy's car a Honda was totaled and no damage was done to the trailer. I also left while the guy was smashing his dash, being ****ed off.

No one is arguing that driving while intoxicated is a good thing. In fact it is completely irresponsible.

I was pointing out that the cop probably blew the trial with his on-camera arrest that has now gone nationwide.

Weed impairs one's abilities while under the influence. That's the danger.

Sorry for your troubles. Glad to hear things are working out for you.

Indeed it can. I actually have never had my license, by choice.

I had some serious seizures during childhood, and there is a good chance of recurrence at some point.

I don't want to be behind the wheel if that happens. So I decided in my teen years to voluntarily 'ground' myself.

I know that's not entirely relevant, but the point is I care enough that I make that huge sacrifice in convenience for the safety of others.

Exactly how do you figure? He was arrested on the SUSPICION of driving under the influence and taken to the hospital for testing. Regardless of the test outcome, the officer made the appropriate call based on the data provided at the time of the incident.

    • Ocenaudio 3.19.5 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display. Ocenaudio 3.19.5 changelog: Fixes crashes related to audio devices on Windows (DirectSound and ASIO) Fixes several crashes and memory corruption issues Fixes opening several headerless files at once, which previously dropped all but one Improves batch export by suggesting and remembering the destination folder Fixes accented and non-Latin characters in VST plug-in and compressed-archive file names Adds zstd compression support and updates the archive library Other bug fixes and improvements Download: Ocenaudio 64-bit | Portable | ~40.0 MB (Freeware) Download: Ocenaudio for Linux and Mac OS View: Ocenaudio Homepage | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • I did think about a Echo show once and it would be useful to see what my cameras see. But my brother got one and I changed my mind. Adverts and not really worth the price just to see my cameras. I have a load of dots and a Echo Gen 4, they will do.
    • I asking where you are from or live, because if you don't live in the U.K, why are you so bothered? That is another reason I voted out, E.U and people poking their noses in where they should not be. Sadly we still have it, Trump, and his cronies. Putin as well and no doubt others. It makes no difference what we believe, if we made the right choice or not, we are out. As I said to someone when the news first broke we have voted out, we just need to make the best of it. I have no problems with closer ties to the E.U, we still need to trade. Just don't want to be in their club.
    • So you think I voted out because i am anti-immigrant. I am fed up with those that come over and think that we owe them something. The ones that are at the moment coming over from France where they are already in a safe country because they think and no doubt will get everything chucked at them. While people who were born and bred here get very little. I have nothing against as i have said before those that come here and work. In fact I know full well that our NHS would struggle without them. I do have a problem with those that come over here and try to push their religion and their way of life onto us. My reasons for voting out was because of what the E.U is and is also becoming. I did not agree with Freedom of movement, not because I don't want people over here, but because people need to be checked before being allowed to cross borders and that goes both ways. But my main thing was because the E.U is becoming if not already a united states of Europe. The only reason countries like Poland and Romania joined was because they had no money. When my partner left Poland, she had nothing, Poland had nothing, that is why she left. Wanted to learn something and earn a living. The E.U would have us back according to Michel Barnier. https://www.euronews.com/my-eu...ator-barnier-tells-euronews Why are you so scared to say what country you are in?
    • I wonder what that line really meant...
