With a Nintendo Direct scheduled for tomorrow morning (Friday), Nintendo has pushed out a firmware update for both Wii U and 3DS ahead of whatever announcements are coming.

Wii U?s update brings the hardware to version 2.1.0 and addresses the following, according to Nintendo:

?Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.?

It?s a similar vagueness on 3DS, which moves to version 4.5.0-10U:

?Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.?

Based on user reports so far, not much has changed, but maybe we?ll learn more tomorrow?

Wii U Firmware 2.0.0

Edited by Andrew G.

updated both yesterday. the 3DS update was quick, but the Wii U update took about an hour, as advertised. out of curiousity i'd love to see some changelogs.

Wow really? I must have gotten it right when it was released (I feel like I got it Tuesday night even?) as I downloaded and installed my WiiU update in under 10 minutes? :s

Did I somehow enable background downloads or something? Literally as soon as I turned my WiiU on, about 15 seconds later I got a pop up about a system update being available. Within 10 minutes it was all done and installed.

    • This is weird. Mythos is more unrestricted compared to Fable. Technically it poses more risk!!
    • This is a great thing, I always have issues with Verizon while inside of certain football stadiums due to the saturation and walls blocking signal so a LOS way to connect would be great. Verizon was supposed to be offering sat data this year but I've not heard a word of it lately. Dude is sending rockets into space in a cheap manner, low waste foot print and has a great product with solar/battery tech. We would be so far behind China right now if not for him and a push to get back into space.
    • illegally? Proof of that? Seems you are posting misinformation or well a pure straight up lie cause there is zero proof of such a thing. But I get it...
