BMW 4-series Coupe Concept Revealed

BMW has officially revealed the all-new 4-Series Coupe Concept, following an earlier leak.

Looking production-ready, the two-door coupe will make its public debut next month in Detroit. This is basically a three-door version of the 3-Series sedan but comes with several design tweaks that make it look sporty, yet elegant at the same time.

Its wheelbase measures 2,810mm which makes it 50mm longer than that of the current 3-Series coupe. The front track now measures 1,545mm (45mm more) while the rear one stands at 1,593mm (up by 80mm). The 4-Series Coupe Concept is 1,826mm wide so it's 44mm broader than its predecessor. With a 1,362mm height, the concept is 16mm lower and at the same time it's longer than before, measuring 4,641mm.

BMW installed a set of exclusive 20-inch light alloy wheels featuring a three-dimensional multi-spoke design that add to the car's sporty look. At the front we notice the hexagonal full LED headlights and the larger air intake in the front apron. The sloping roofline creates a natural transition into the rear, while the side windows help the slim and stretched theme.

The low-slung appearance of the rear is completed by the stretched taillights located at the outer edges. Perhaps the most noticeable aspect of the rear is the bumper with its trim element in satin-finish aluminum that makes the car look premium. It also connects the two exhaust tailpipes in a dynamic sweep at the rear apron's outer edges.

Moving inside the cabin, it's the traditional BMW driver-focused layout with the vital controls located ergonomically around the driver. Colors and material design have been developed by BMW Individual, including the two-tone Black and Schiaparelli Brown trim and light contrasting stitching.

it's ****ing phenomenal, i am in the process of part-exing the current 3-series coup? and i am seriously wondering if i should just wait for this later next year...

i think late 2013 will result in mostly early 2014 deliveries, so i'll get a year of motoring in a new car.. still, i am very lusty, which is a great thing imo!

:D

love the front, love the side, not too crazy about the back lights and the interior...the plastic panel just makes it 'cheap' against the leather/wooden counterpart.

BMW seems to have this hit and miss with their design...

i think the only company whose designs i've liked consistently with each iteration is audi. if only they'd pass off some of that excellence to VW.

Front looks good (except the bumper/fog light area), side looks good, then dear lord what happened to the back? It's just hideous back there. Also the side-rear panel looks just very similar to the Accord coupe (like the MB C coupe). Interior is typical BMW (aka crap layout imo), and that color scheme is terrible. Gotta love alcantara though, best headliner material ever.

Wow.. this is the first BMW that is making me rethink the Audi S5. If they made this one with the black piano accents instead of wood and it will look absolutely sick.

When are these coming out.. I was thinking of getting a new S5 in a month or so but I might just keep my current Audi A5 and drive it for another 2 years or so and get this one when it comes out.

general thinking is Sep 2013 if you're lucky...

and yes you can almost certainly get it in piano black trim, the current F30 you can at least!

Kinda liking the throwback interior myself. I really don't get the model number change though. It just seems confusing to put the coupes/verts in a new 'even' scheme.

Well, it's supposed to reflect how the saloon and the coupe variants are no longer the exact same car with a new body, so I can understand why they've done it.

For me though, the worst bit of the number change is that most M3s are coupes. They will now all be M4s and the M3 name will effectively die away. They should have opted to keep the 3-series as the coupe and make the 4 for saloons.

    • Can you read? I've said I'm willing to pay more for a notchless (no notch) 3:2 screen.
    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • make your own notch - it's not that hard

Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers.
