Post Your Workstation Photos

Recommended Posts

I would heavily advise people to not buy glass desks. I absolutely hate mine.

Glass desks become scratched very easily, and are a pain to maintain.

Desks made of glass make all your wires visible which is a bad thing.

Not only this, but glass desks hurt your arms, as they are very hard.

I would trade my desk for a Basic Beech Jerker anyday.

If I were handed lots of monies to make a workstation:

Big Wooden Desk Custom made from the finest wood.

2 30" Apple Cinema Displays.

Self-Built PC, PC-V1200, fully loaded (AMD / ATI) hooked up to one of the displays.

Apple Powermac G5, Best, Equipped with TV Tuners, hooked up to the other display.

Sony X505 Laptop.

Optimus Keyboard / MX1000 for the PC.

Custom Shortened Apple Bluetooth Keyboard / V500 for the Mac. (or maybe just a kvm)

Logitech Z-5500 (mounted on the walls) for the PC.

Creative Intrigue 3400 for the Mac.

Custom made 17x11 Steel Mousepad.

Stop quoting images people.  It's clear in the first post of the thread that it's not allowed

^^

Are you using the server as a destkop?

And how much did it cost you?

586367520[/snapback]

Yes it is used as a workstation not a server although i do run Windows server 2003 and Windpws XP 64 bit.

The cost of the thing was ?950 and that is just the box. No screen, no mouse no nothing. But it will happily run a few OS's in Virtual server. :DD

Anyone got any usefull ideas for this raw processing power.

^^

Thats a lot of money whish I had that kind of cash :(

For the american it $1,181.51 I converted it with a currency converter

It is a lot of money but hey there is 8 hot plug SCSI hard drive bays and room for another 4 memory modules and a second processor. Should see me right for a few years...hopefully.

Only downside is graphics, with a built in 16Mb Radeon it is not really up to games.

I have PCI-X 64 bit slots and a couple of PCI-Express slots, but i have not seen any graphics cards that fit the smaller PCI-Express slot.

Apart from that it's the first PC to keep up with me. LOL

Here is my setup.? Don't ask why I need 8 monitors.?

I have 2 Dell Precision 360's and 1 GX280 hooked up.?

I am adding a kvm.? Does everyone like my monitor stand??

Built from scratch.

LOL. That's like a scene out of the matrix.

I know you said don't ask but why 8 monitors?

    • Got it. Seem like a good improvement. Thanks. But, before we "Add the source to Trusted Sites," how would know if it is trusted or not? Could get messy for not first Knowing" it is clean. See what I mean?

    • I just started using Teams (and “New” Oiutlook) at work (instead of Slack) and both are truly abysmal pieces of software.
