Thanks everyone for the comments.... and yes - I have been lurking here for a while :ninja:

The desk is from 'Argos' of all places. If you have the latest catalog (the Argos Extra version) it is on page 1386 and is called 'Morgan home office furniture'.

It is real cheap - but looks pretty good I think..

Brilliant, what's it like? :D

I was tempted to go for one of those but am worried about how it'll do with my optical mouse (Black Microsoft tilty one).

Is it really any smoother than just using a desk, I can't believe it is!

its been awesome so far, I'm glad I bought it but with a desk you'll prolly want the tape for the mouse feet, it helps a lot

Heres my little corner of 1337 experiences, kinda messy in this pic.. Also off with the sony monitor, and in with some crappy esprit 15d, hope to get my sony fixed up soon, or a new one..

you have the same DSL modem as me.

is it really geeky that i can tell just by looking at the lights?

Really, I just got a new phone, Motorola V600, and was really excited because it had a built in camera with half decent specs.

The photos it takes are much clearer than my old T616 but they still are really blurry.

What kind of webcam do you have?

I used to have an Intel model that sucked but now I just use my Sony DCS-V1 through the video in line on my AIW.

      Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

      I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
