MANHEIM, PA (AP) ? A man suffocated his 17-year-old girlfriend by sitting on her head after he intentionally drove into a guardrail at about 100 miles per hour in the middle of the night, authorities said.

Police filed homicide and other charges Friday against 19-year-old Benjamin Daniel Klinger for the Dec. 4 death of Sammi Heller on an interstate near Manheim, in south-central Pennsylvania. Klinger is accused of crashing on purpose, then killing Heller by sitting on her until she asphyxiated.

"At first glance, this appeared to be simply another tragic vehicle accident," Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman told the Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era. "However, the police worked hand-in-hand with our forensic experts and saw this was far more complicated, sinister and certainly criminal."

Heller told a friend that Klinger previously tried to scare her while driving and that he had threatened to kill them both in a crash, authorities said. A witness told detectives that Heller said that Klinger would push her into walls and once pushed her down a set of stairs, police alleged.

A truck driver who came upon the 2 a.m. crash heard Heller screaming and was told by 911 operators not to move the crash victims. When police arrived, Klinger was sitting on top of Heller's head and torso, according to the arrest affidavit.

Detectives recovered marijuana, cash, a digital scale, a pipe, pills and a black air pistol from the wreckage.

Klinger was also charged with aggravated assault, drug offenses and driving violations.

I have to ask the obvious question:

WHY do you keep her as a girlfriend if you just want to abuse her, then kill her ??? :s

I thought the obvious question was "why do you keep dating a psycho that threatens to kill you and throws you down a flight of stairs"

No the real question is Why stay with a man who ....

Separately, he faces a charge of simple assault after being accused of running over Heller's foot in May and two counts of disseminating explicit sexual materials to a minor after being accused of sending out photos and video of Heller.

I can't find a girlfriend, yet other <snipped> out there are trying to suffocate theirs? Life ain't fair!!!!

I think that they need new forensic experts if they found this complicated. I'm no profressional but it seems pretty clear to me

Cuz the sex was amazing ... ?

Pretty much, I've had women openly admit that once you can satisfy them sexually you'd need a crowbar to get them off. its sad, I knew a girl who was in an abusive relationship, got the courage to leave and found a nice guy who actually looked out for her. She then broke up with him (before they got serious) saying it was happening too fast and she wasn't ready. Lo and behold three months later she's back with the abusive guy and four months later she has a broken forearm.

I don't know if its the primal instinct to seek the alpha male type but women pretty much gravitate to men who treat em like crap. Go figure.

See I've never found treating women like crap to work out for me...But being too kind doesn't work either...you get used and they leave.

    • Microsoft is bringing a much-needed Recap app to Teams, here is a first look by Usama Jawad Microsoft Teams is heavily used in work and school environments, and perhaps one of its core but extremely useful features is the ability to record meetings. In past years, Microsoft has further improved upon this functionality by integrating AI, but you do need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license to leverage most, if not all, all of those capabilities. Now, the Redmond tech firm is making another significant enhancement in the area of Teams meeting recordings. Up until now, if you wanted to access Teams recordings, you had to arduously locate the meeting invite and navigate to the dedicated tab, or go to the cloud storage location such as a SharePoint site. This was a rather overwhelming activity, especially if you don't remember the name of the meeting or the meeting occurred quite a while ago. Microsoft is now attempting to solve this problem through a dedicated Recap app that consolidates all your recordings. This centralized experience will allow users to find all recordings from the past 30 days and also offer access to other related services such as transcripts and AI-powered summaries. Customers will have the option to search for recordings, filter them, and review multiple meetings by generating AI-powered podcast-style recaps. The Recap app will list all available recordings in both thumbnail and list views. The former is shown below: And here is how Teams users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license can select multiple recordings to generate a podcast-style audio recap: Microsoft has emphasized that the Recap app is pre-installed in Teams but it will not be pinned by default. Users will able to navigate to the Teams app store from the left rail, and pin it from the apps section. It will be enabled by default for all users once it becomes available. It's worth noting that while Teams recordings and transcripts can be accessed by all users governed by existing permissions, AI-powered features like intelligent summaries, audio recaps, and video recaps will require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. The Recap app will be generally available to Teams users on Windows, Mac, and the web by the end of next month, with mobile support coming soon.
