Thank you for your patience.

It's one of those "honor code" things. You aren't technically supposed to use it for commercial use, but good luck on Adobe's part proving that...

Well, it's a bit harder for enterprises to get away with it, as I'm sure any enterprise would love a free copy of Acrobat.

While to most users this WILL translate to a free license, what it essentially means is no commercial use.

You are only legally entitled to download and install with that serial number if you have a valid license to the product!

Actually it means no use at all unless you bought it. Not really surprised.

Adobe is one of the most greedy tech company out there.

Basically it's a non news story as CS 2 as been avalaible for ages from [insert illegal means to get it here] without the need to activate it.

To be used legally you still need a valid license.

Bah Gimp and Lightworks do the job anyway. And its not like i actually want to support a company like Adobe.

Gimp is a horrible piece of software. The UI is just atrocious.

Ya I once wanted to put 2 images side by side in a new image with text. Took me like 30 mins or more. In photoshop I would have had it done in less than 3

I have been using Gimp and Inkscape at the office, but I'll be deleting those suckers, forthwith.

At home I was fiddling with the trial of CS6, but I don't have much use many of the new features.

Edit: Re-installing Gimp and Inkscape on office computer now!

That said, $50 an month for CS6 is not a bad deal.

These are still quite powerful as "given away" products, even if not the latest. This is where Windows amazing backward compatibility of old software wins over OS X. :D

Way to go Adobe.

So tempting to get, but already have PaintShop Pro X5 installed which I'm retraining myself to use again. Been many years.

At one point in time I used to always have the latest PSP and Photoshop installed as graphics design was one of my biggest things.

Had all the cool plugins for them too. I probably used PSP more though.

Anyways, nice that Adobe has done this,

Close the topic and rename it then.

Yes, I should have done.

Adobe has not released CS2 for free.

On behalf of Adobe Systems Incorporated ...

You have heard wrong! Adobe is absolutely not providing free copies of CS2!

What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don't require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available. (Special serial numbers are provided on the page for each product download.) See <http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1114930>.

You are only legally entitled to download and install with that serial number if you have a valid license to the product!

    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
    • Microsoft, totally not confusing /s 25H2 - Current for non-Arm based Windows 26H1 - Current for Arm based Windows 26H2 - Only for non Arm Windows
