That never stopped Jason Voorhees, or Freddy Kruger :p

If a fool broke down my door with a jason mask on all hell would be unleashed on my end because 1. someone broke down my door with a machete 2. JASON JUST BROKE MY DOOR!

I would offer him some tea and ask him about his "mommy issues" :p

Well I'd offer to let you shoot him, but we both know that would do absolutely zero to deter him.

Trust me a shotgun slug to the face.. there would be no head left lol. if that didn't work i'd use my .308 rifle on him. then my xd .40 with hydra shok ammo lol

But what about Freddy, I distinctively recall Jason got his ass handed to him by Freddy.....

Incorrect. It was only in the "alternate ending" that Freddy "won". In the theater and regular movie, there was no clear winner.

All of which you'd miraculously have no issues doing while he was swiping at you with a machete.

Well he's not real and it was a movie so i'd be the star in the movie so of course i'd have time to reach my other guns lol.

Well i mean if I was in the movie i'd make it more realistic. one shot to the head with a slug or .308 and its game over, roll the credits lol.

Ok this is simply an observation, I freely admit I was trolling just then, (trying to lighten the mood before the debate degenerates further)

But I did notice, for all of your answers your reply was 'just shoot it'...

Any particular reason why?

I mean, why not ask Jason 'How do you feel about that?'

Or Freddy, Don't touch kiddies

Or Nemesis, 'You'd be an excellent asset in construction'

Or even, to the terminator... 'Play chess'?

</trollpost>

Edit, all but one :p

Should also point out that he "won" in each case as well ;) Gun nut and God complex!!! :p Lol

Because you don't reason with jason, anyone that watched the friday the 13th movies knows that. He is a mindless killing machine.

The terminator didn't get its name for being a polite and mild mannored robot. Like Jason it is a killing machine. To stop them you have fight fire with fire. -

(Ok this ones too hard for me to resist, no offence intended)

So you'd advocate a society where everyone burns...?

Lol what. No. However if someone is wielding a machete and coming at me. Then yes, if they feel like they need to try to kill me then damn it, i'm not going to offer them a nice cup of tea and a chat i'm gonna try my best to do it back to them. I don't advocate shooting people for simple assaults or arguments. I only think using a gun is justified when someone is trying to kill you, which means they they have a weapon and actively trying to use it on you. So no I don't think the world should burn. I think that we should indeed try to talk our way out of bad situations however there's a time to talk and a time to take action.

ok, i really have to ask as an American myself

why, why, honestly why do you guys fight so hard to cling to inanimate objects when getting rid of them could possibly save thousands of more lives then keeping them and arguing about the 2nd amendment

and before people go crying "you think criminals are gonna obey the gun restriction laws stupid?!?!?" refer to Shakey's post. nothing of this large of scale can be fixed instantly, it takes time. and seriously the whole anti vs pro gun arguments just make the situation worse and keep us away from finding an actual solution

I just can't understand why or how you can choose an inanimate object over thousands if not millions of lives. and especially not even be willing to make some kind of compromise.

I see, UK release version I had on Video showed Freddy won, didn't realise it was an alternate ending. lol I had to go look that up

p.s. side note: i would not be surprised if lack of religion is partially to blame for random psycho's like this as you never used to have these types of school shootings and the like not all that long ago and it seems todays generations are getting further and further away from belief in god etc.

... Said in a thread where the perp was the son of a pastor.

Lack of religion isn't the cause. Try again.

I'm surprised you pointed it out. I had typed out a similar response but opted against it since his post in it's entirety was simply regurgitated pro-gunner arguments that have been beaten to death from both sides. Lol

Well, I didn't see anyone else poke his sad attempt at blaming atheism, and I'm not the sort to let such a ridiculous claim slide...

    • If Valve refused to let them make the case, I wonder if they've already partnered with someone else to do it? The fact that they didn't seek permission/licence before diving straight in is incredible though
    • OpenClaw now has native mobile apps on iOS and Android by Karthik Mudaliar OpenClaw, the viral open-source personal AI agent, now has its own mobile app, available on both Android and iOS. Users can pair the app with an existing OpenClaw gateway and can start using new mobile-native features that are now available on the app. The app supports all the existing features you'd already have seen on OpenClaw's TUI, as well as some more, such as real-time and background Talk mode, action approvals, sharing from iOS, and optional access to device capabilities such as camera, screen, location, photos, contacts, calendar, and reminders. These features are available on both the Android and iOS versions of the app. What's important with these apps is that they don't run OpenClaw on your phone, but are actually just companion apps that require a running OpenClaw Gateway on an existing device, on macOS, Linux, or Windows via WSL2. To pair the app with your existing OpenClaw gateway, users need to run the command "/pair qr" on the TUI or existing chat interface, which brings up a QR code. Users can then scan this QR code to pair it up with the mobile app. There's also an option to manually pair the app by entering the host and a port. Previously, OpenClaw had been available on phones via WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Matrix, and others. Now, with a native mobile app, the interface is much cleaner and more focused on just the OpenClaw, of course, with the added support for camera, screen, location, and more. It's important to note that OpenClaw comes with its own security warnings. There's always a chance of prompt injection with these tools, so users are recommended to double-check authentication, tool policy, sandboxing, and execution approvals rather than prompts alone. For users well-versed with the AI harness, a native mobile app makes it easier to approve an automation, share a link, use voice, or let an agent react to phone-side context.
    • Google pitches Spanner as one database for all AI agents with these new featues by Karthik Mudaliar Google Cloud is introducing new features within Spanner, its distributed database, as a place where enterprises should keep their data, using which AI agents could make smarter and better decisions. In a detailed blog post, Google highlighted quite a few features coming to Spanner, including relational data, graph relationships, vector search, key-value access, full-text search, and operational analytics together in one database architecture. Google says that today's systems aren't well-made for AI agents. There could be data that is present in one system, search indexes in another, embeddings in a vector database, and relationship data in a graph database. This fragmentation isn't great for AI agents to do their jobs because they don't have access to all of this data in one place. This is where Google is positioning Spanner as a solution. Spanner is already a globally distributed relational database with strong consistency, and Google wants its customers to see it as a broader data layer for AI applications. The company introduced something called Spanner Graph, along with integrated vector search, full-text search, a Cassandra-compatible key-value endpoint, and a columnar engine for analytical queries on operational data. Google also added that its ScaNN-powered vector search can support indexes with more than 10 billion vectors, while the columnar engine can make some analytical scans up to 200 times faster. All of this isn't just exclusive to the Google Cloud Platform, and there's support for multi-cloud as well. This comes via Spanner Omni, which Google says is a downloadable, containerized version of Spanner that can run on Kubernetes and in environments outside Google Cloud, including Microsoft Azure and AWS, and even on-premises infrastructure as well as edge deployments. Google says that customers who are interested in the full-featured edition should contact the company, and there's no word on commercial availability or separate pricing. Those interested can read the full blog by Google Cloud, which details these features individually.
