There was a few kids in our community that did that. They don't anymore and all it took was telling them to either pull up their drawers or you'd do it for them and when that failed, we proceeded to do just that a few times. Now they don't bag and sag here.

Guess the cops have too much free time on their hands? Or the prison industry wants more revenue?

OTOH, I really don't care what stuff you wear. But please, if you are wearing saggy pants, wear some higher quality underwear.

You can't carry some many guns in "hip-hop style". The pants would fall down with all the weight! :p

I'd like to see that guy walk normally. Stupid video.

It's sad to see a culture full of kids doing this but it's a cultural statement no different then back when I was growing up and us "hippies" would cut out a big V in the bottom of our pants and sew in some bright red lumberjack shirt material, or wearing headbands, or not wearing any shoes which was a big hippie thing growing up. I'm a bit old school so my view might be more conservative. When I was a kid and my family was going to church, either my mom or dad would remind me to make sure I had a belt on. It just seems to be a sign of disrespect or anger towards society, or how somebody feels about themselves.

I've never understood how it became 'cool' to show your butt.

Ironically, Prison.

I think this is good. It's somewhat of a shame it has to come to this. You would think after reaching say 19 years old (to be generous) one would come to the conclusion all by themselves that it was not a cool think to do once you're all growed up.

I'm all for it, personally. Anyone know dresses like that looks ridiculous.

Oh, and for those that think it originated from Prison about your availability, it didn't according to Snopes. Actually, their reasoning seems far more sound, being sent to a prison where the guards didn't care if the overalls fit or not and so the prisoners just adapted.

See, this kind of law .. .and I hate that look btw ... but this kind of law is morally objectionable. Human beings deciding to lock up and restrict other human beings for the way they dress. Hmm. That seems a little bit nazi-fied to me. It's wrong for a group of people to believe they have the right, because they are employed by the state, to lock others up for the way they dress. I think the police uniform is horrendously awful to look at , and shows off their butt's to much. Do I have any rights here to lock them up? No. It's just dumb. I'm so glad I don't live in the USA. lol.

couple things... think about being in an alley and you and a friend are out looking for trouble... you see a lone guy with his pants low - obviously you cannot see a knife or gun in his underwear band, so you think maybe he is an easy target... but no, you see that his pants are around his ankles, which makes it impossible for him to run... which means he will stand his ground when the time comes, cause he has PLANNED to not be able to move right, or quickly.

The pants like that screams 'I am not going to budge when the time comes, and I don't need to worry about you, or carrying (unless you do see it in their underwear band) and I will mess you up if you try anything'. In other words... it's an attitude and mind-warefare like a bird puffing up it's feathers for territory, or a dog's fur standing up.

That and the prison pants hanging low due to fitting, and moved on to the hand in the pocket thing, meaning if you mess with a man's woman.. he will come looking for you.

Kids have been wearing their pants like that for decades. Was dumb then, and is dumb now...even when I was a kid. 3yrs is extreme tho but I wouldnt mind them being fined. A lot of times underwear is shown or more...so its pretty much exposing yourself. And indecency..

Where did you live as a kid that made this cool?

It was never cool when I was a kid, 40+ years ago!!

Don't think that punishment is appropriate, but they should be able to do something about it. It is lewd and I would not want to see females doing it either!

No it's not. You need to stop being a massive prude. It's not like they have no underpants on. Who cares. Doesn't affect you, so you shouldn't care.
