Rumoured Credits Scene:

In the comics Richard Rider gets his powers from the last surviving Nova Centurion, Rhoman Dey. after Xandar gets destroyed by Zorr. In this case, the one responsible for Xandar's destruction seems like it would be Ronan. After the battle, Rhomann heavily injured, either chases one of the villains or crash lands on earth and while succumbing to his injuries chooses Richard Rider and grants him his powers.

Apparently the after credits scene in this summer's Guardians of the Galaxy will feature the human rocket, Nova. And as far as Dave Gonzalez can find out (he was unable to confirm), the character will be played by Firefly's Nathan Fillion! Which rendition of the character we will see was not specified, but going by his likeness to the comic book counterpart, it would be safe to make the assumption that Fillion will be playing Richard Rider.

I sure hope Nathan Fillion gets to be Nova!

NATHAN FILLION TO CAMEO IN "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY"

There's good news for Nathan Fillion fans: He will make a cameo in "Guardians of the Galaxy." But there's also bad news for Nova fans: The rumors he's playing the Human Rocket "have been greatly (and entirely) exaggerated," according to director James Gunn.

Gunn took to Twitter to squash a rumor that appeared on the internet Saturday:

However, in a response to a followup question, Gunn did confirm that the "Firefly" and "Castle" actor will appear in the film:

Fillion has previously appeared in two other Gunn films, "Super" and "Slither."
