I wouldn't pay for a multi only game.

I would. I'd prefer a game where the exclusive focus was on the bit that people actually play.

Might spend a few hours playing the single player but you can bet your ass you'll have several hundred hours in multiplayer if you like the game.

Ugh.

My PC came with a 2 gig GT 650. 12gig ram. Gen 4 I7.

Maybe run it on high?

Reckon it'll likely do ultra but high is often actually better performing. Even on epic rigs ultra can introduce more frame lags so while average FPS is still good it'll actually appear more jittery that it ought to.

High is probably a good bet.

System I'm looking at purchasing comes with a quad core AMD processor and a 2GB GTX 760 and I'm fairly confident it'll comfortably do high settings with decent FPS.

The min specs are laughable though...BF3 wouldn't even run on those...I should know - i tried. Needs a quad core from my experience to be anywhere near acceptable.

Multiplayer trailer and some dates were released:

Pre-ordered the deluxe edition just for the "exclusive" beta access. If I knew there would be an open beta for all, I'd just get the regular version.

But never mind, it's almost here :D

Considering the BF3 "exclusive" beta was only 48 hours, it's not exactly surprising.

The only reason I'm getting this is the no respawn mode - I got tired of shooting the same guy as soon as you entered an area, only to have him spawn in seconds before you capture the point.
Looking forward to the beta, just for the maps. Hopefully they've actually done something beyond scripted destruction this time.

Awwww shucks.....

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz

XFX Radeon HD 7850 XFX DD Black Edition 2GB

Kingston 16 GB DDR3 1600MHz

Windows 8 64bit

:(

the 7850 will be fine, but think itll mean the 7870 theoretically wont play it at maxiumum settings, probably just play it on high with low or no Anti aliasing. goes to show theres more speed in win8 :d

So you paid ?55 just for early access?? Im paying ?35 for BF4 and includes premium content for free worth ?40 (all 5 bonus maps 12 battlepacks etc ). youd be paying ?95 for what ive got for ?35 so i wouldnt have a big smile on your face tbh just to play a beta 1 month early. you could of bought another game with your savings

**UPDATE** i dont bloody blame you actually i want play it now lol. going wait for the new GPU's from amd the volcanic islands ones a 9950 equivalent see if its worth shelling out like ?350 or just grab a ?200 7950 for this cus me 1GB 6870 just isnt going to cut it

I didn't pay ?65. I paid ?60 for both the deluxe edition and premium. And if Zavvi did free shipments outside of UK, I'd also order from them.

ah no yours doesnt include premium content per se. yours includes 1 out of 5 expansion packs and 3 out of 12 battlepacks. I think everyone gets the expansions but premium members get it 2 weeks earlier including its

Battlefield 4? Premium membership includes:
? Five digital expansion packs featuring new multiplayer maps and in-game content
? Two-weeks early access to all expansion packs for that competitive edge
? Exclusive personalization options including camos, paints, emblems, dogtags and more
? Priority position in server queues
? New weekly content and challenges
? 12 Battlepacks

Your just basically paying ?10 equivalent to get early access to a beta

You must have missed teh hotlinks in my reply to you, or just misread. I bought the deluxe edition and the premium separately.

And, users that purchased the deluxe edition and/or the premium, both get access to the beta on the same day. October 1st, as I quoted here: https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1143924-battlefield-4/?view=findpost&p=595952463 (also note that the beta will be open for all after only four days)

The multiplayer trailer just makes me want this more...think I might need a graphics card upgrade soon though...GTX460 is maybe a little weak..

Also that Amazon price is soo much better than Origin, will probably get it from there now.

I'm running 2 x GTX480 SLI, be interesting to see how it goes as well. These puppies run HOT!

and umm....what?

AMD Introduces Mantle At GPU 14

Part of the discussion today at AMD's GPU 14 Tech Day Event centered around Mantle, a low-level high-performance cross-platform console-style graphics API for the PC that was built by AMD in close collaboration with DICE. According to AMD, Mantle enables perfect parallel rendering that allows all eight CPU cores to be utilized simultaneously. AMD went on to say that, on Windows based PCs, the Frostbite 3 engine will render natively with Mantle instead of DirectX 11 on Radeon GPUs.

I've said this too many times since AMD's reveal; but I would have preferred if they'd added TrueAudio support to BF4 in the future instead of Mantle. Unless of course they'll add support to both... which is highly unlikely.

I don't know why they'd do one and not the other.  The Battlefield series has had very strong audio support in the past (I only own Bad Company 2 and BF3 along with the two newest Medal of Honors, but still.)

Maybe not right away, but I'd still expect it.

    • Lol are you mad because I'm not using AI? I'd rather pay people than lose a bunch of potential customers and get humilated because I used AI. A lot of people won't purchase a game if it used AI during development.
