Boston Bombing Suspects - MIT Shooting - Manhunt

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to the all the law enforcement personnel in MA.

My cousin in Boston told me people in her neighborhood were outside cheering for the police! Apparently they are now going to have a block party!

Earlier in the thread someone made a snarky comment about Sen. Lindsey Graham saying he hoped no one Mirandised (read him his rights not to speak, that he can have a free attorney, etc.) Suspect 2 if he were captured.

This post may have been cleaned, and I chose to ignore it then, but now's the time for an answer.

Under Miranda there is an exception to the reading requirement. If public safety is at risk, such as if it's possible there are unknown or un-captured co-conspirators who could do more attacks, the suspect can be questioned at length without being Mirandized or getting an attorney.

So, Senator Graham was simply speaking the truth, and hoping no cops Mirandized him out of habit.

He's in serious condition with reports of wounds in the leg and the neck, but he should survive.

Confirmed by Justice Department: Tsarnaev was NOT read his Miranda rights, so he is now fair game under the Miranda exception.

Have fun buddy :ninja:

YET!

It's also standard practice if a person is incapacitated or unconscious not to do that, they would wait until he woke up then do it usually so it's all "legal" because he could always claim he wasn't read them in court if he was out of it or under influence of something or incapacitated

not being read them doesn't mean they are null and void until they are read...

I've been arrested. As long as they do not question him before reading them, they are in the clear.

I know this because my rights weren't read to me. I called a lawyer and was informed that I had no case because they never questioned me.

They can question him, just they cant use what he says in court til after his Miranda rights are read.

Suspect wasn't very bright boarding a boat that's not on the water.

the boat was already searched/cleared by law enforcement appox 45 mins ago and could have been an exactly hiding place...he wasn't very bright leaving the shed door open and blood smears. I'm glad the owner went out to look and wasn't harmed.

On one hand, I kinda want him to die in the hospital, just so we don't spend millions of tax dollars funding a lawyer, feeding and clothing him, giving him medical care, etc. for the next 10 years before he either gets executed or his appeals get used up, but on the other hand, since they have yet to tie him to any specific group or ideology that I've heard of, I kind of want him to live just so we can find out "why".

There are way too many unanswered questions left and it is a good thing that he was captured alive. Why would two young men living in the US for 10 years decide to go on a terrorist rampage? They put their own failures to the US society they could not fit in? They wanted their 15 minutes of fame? After that, there are the means? How did they get their explosives and weapons?

Amazing how people pull together in times of crisis and ordinary people like you or I in the police force with families of their own pushing forward at serious risk to their life to capture the bad guys.

I doff my hat to all Bostonians and the Police Forces that brought this guy to face justice.

Hope they will find out who supplied or where they bought materials to make those bombs ... I don't believe those two acts on their own. There are more sleepers like them living among us.

You can get the chemicals needed from just about any gardening store or pharmacy. As for the electronics; again, very simple to make. No deep conspiracy is needed for these two to do what they have done.

Damn, I go to sleep and all the good **** goes down....

very surprised he is alive yet im not sure he will survive.

the gif is shopped; he goes over the fence and then unlocks it for the rest of the officials...

    • So the card is targeted at headphone users - so the review should be from someone that uses this - maybe I can review a card next time.
    • I have a older F4-210 NAS, it is pretty basic, the CPU is not the fastest by a long way and only 1GB of ram, but it works fine. I don't understand the need for A.I in a NAS. It seems like A.i is being shoved into everything, if we like it or not. i will stick to my old Terramsater NAS, thankfully the OS is not being updated. Also, got myself a small NAs built using a Raspberry Pi 5. iy usesd less energy, so stays on all the time. As for the unit above, if it is as reliable as my old Terramaster Nas, then it will be a good unit.
    • Gemini in Google Sheets can now help you debug and fix formula errors by David Uzondu Google has started rolling out an update to Gemini in Google Sheets that allows the AI to diagnose and fix formula errors in one click, as long as your Workspace admin has Gemini for Workspace in Sheets turned on. According to Google, the new feature can handle pretty much everything from basic arithmetic to very complex calculations. This ability to debug formula errors comes about two years after Google introduced basic formula generation with Gemini in Sheets. To create a formula with Gemini in Sheets, you open a spreadsheet on your computer and click Ask Gemini in the top right corner. You can also enter an equals sign in any cell and use a shortcut like Ctrl + Alt + G on Windows and Chrome OS, or Command + Ctrl + G on macOS. Once you open the side panel, you write a natural language prompt using your sheet references. For example, you can ask Gemini to divide goals by games, or to find cell C1 in range D:G. If for some reason, the formula Gemini generated doesn't work, or maybe you wrote the formula yourself, you can troubleshoot the issue directly inside the grid. When a cell shows an error message, you hover over it and click "Fix". This action opens the side panel where Gemini analyzes the data structure and automatically applies the fixes when they are ready. You can cancel the process at any time by clicking stop in the side panel. Image via Google Google has been pushing its Gemini integration in Google Sheets for a while now, steadily moving AI features from side panels directly into user spreadsheets. Last year, the Mountain View giant shipped an =AI() Function in Sheets that allowed users to run translation and text generation directly inside cells instead of using the side panel interface. Earlier this year, the company announced that Gemini in Sheets had reached near-human expert performance, achieving a 70.48% success rate on the SpreadsheetBench dataset.
    • I get what you are saying, If i go onto the Instagram site, it says log in with Facebook, but they are not allowed to link my account with Instagram until I do that. Maybe in the U.S, they can link them, but Privacy is not a thing in the U.S. the way things are going,l won;t be any better in the U.K.
