@crusher: AutoPatcher has no real uninstallation but this is how it will work from December update and later:

Every MS Hotfix/Patch, Program or Tool with make a unique uninstall entry in the add/remove programs just like it would if it ran normally... Thats where you can uninstall those...

Now, for the regtweaks, we will include a revert folder, which will contain the 'opposite' of each regtweak... so if you want to 'uninstall' a regtweak, you can 'install' the opposite of it :D

/Raptor

Still we can individually un-install the updates but not the registry tweaks, how about you having some kind of a total clean un-installer which literally removes every single tweak or application it installed in the first place.

Hmmm... I guess the question would have to be... why would you want to uninstall everything??

How about another useful addition?

In the early microsoft powertoys there was a Target Context Menu, where you can right click a shortcut, and have access the properties of the shortcut's target via an additional menu (see attached screenshot)

Although they were for the early windows 95, they work fine on XP (I use this one on my install now - very useful)

If you can't find the files, I've attached them to this post, the installation is in the form of an '.inf' file (right-click->Install)

context.jpg

Attached: target.zip = 2 files: TARGET.inf, TARGET.DLL

The Damn NFO viewer would be a nice option in my opinion...

Well it sounds good to me to... I'll see what I can do about includin' it. :)

@extreme_madness - Thanks man, I'll check that out in a bit (I'm currently upgradin' a PC from ME to XP... just got it up, about to slap SP1 and then the AP on it). :D

FlishFun this is like saying why applications have un-installers & everything, in case of problems atleast a newbie user should have an option to revert it back.

Well that's true... but if only one this is causing a problem I thought it best to just remove that thing. If it's wanted though, I'll try to come up with something (if possible) and include it in the Jan release. :)

Good to see the December update coming along :D.

I was looking over the tweaks included in 4.1 and found some more out there that might be nice to include. I do not know if these have been discussed, debated, or discarded (or if I just missed them in the AP 4.1 docs), but thought I would mention them. As I am sure you all know, sites such as http://www.windows-help.net/WindowsXP/cust-idx.html and http://www.tweakxp.com/ are great.

Removing "Set Program Access and Defaults"

Speed Up the Start Menu

Group Task Buttons by Size

Display Administrator Account on Welcome Screen

Hide Users on the Welcome Screen

Switching Num Lock On

Disable the Windows Key

Remove Shared Documents Folder from My Computer

Adjust Internet Time Synchronization (add additional time servers)

Show User and Computer Name

Prevent Windows Media Player 8.0 from Maintaining a Recent-files List

Edit: Removed one :)

how about adding the adaptec aspi layer for windows xp, its needed for running programs like clony and helps smooth out all sorts of other cd burning issues.

its freeware from adaptec and installs via a batch file so it would integrate nicely into autopatcher

although freeware, i think there are still legal issues when binding it with other programs, hence cd burning programs not including it

doesn't seem to be a problem. its mainly not included because the like of nero and roxio have developed their own system or use imapi for cd burning now,

though as confirmation i found this floating around in a readme thats included with the latest aspi from adaptec

Vendor Licensing Information:

"A royalty-free ASPI Software License Agreement from Adaptec "

I stand corrected! :D

I stand corrected! :D

Great! Cause I've written it up and I think I'll include it.

My current problem, if anyone can help... I can't figure out how to install the DAMN NFO Viewer silently. I'm not sure there is a way. :(

post a link to the damn nfo viewer and maybe with the combined might of the neowinians we can figure it out for you :p

have you posted a list of everything included in the december update so far? i've looked through a couple of these vast posts but i don't have the time to read every single one, so excuse me if there already is a list posted somewhere

Better yet, since I can't remember the link (and the one on the main site is broken), I'll just attatch it. :) Please, if anyone can figure it out, let me know.

And no, not yet... still compiling (very close to done, been at it most of today).

    • I recommend checking to see if your UEFI/Bios is up to date.  It took me a while to find the product / support download page. https://test.colorful.cn/en/home/product?mid=84&id=937
    • Calendar management with the new Outlook is horrendous! Things I can do in one or two clicks in classic take 4-5 in the new version. Sometimes I can't even find the same options I had in classic.
    • 10 games join Xbox Free Play Days this weekend by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Another Free Play Days offer has just landed, and this one is a unique one. On top of offering 10 games to jump into for Xbox players, all the titles are from a single publisher: No More Robots. The promotion has games like Little Rocket Lab, Spirittea, Descenders Next, Let's Build a Zoo, and much more. Almost every game in the selection does need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential subscription, so keep this in mind when browsing. Many of the titles are Xbox Play Anywhere titles though, so both Xbox console and PC players can jump in. Here's how the announcement blog post described some of the available titles: There is one game that's available to all Xbox players without the need for any subscriptions, which is Descenders. Here are the announced games and the platforms they are available to play on: Little Rocket Lab (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Spirittea (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Soccer Story (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Descenders Next (Game Preview) (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Let's Build a Zoo (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Hypnospace Outlaw (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Nowhere Prophet (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) Family Man (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One) Descenders (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC) To easily find the titles on Xbox consoles, first head to the Store, then in the sidebar, find the Home section. In there, open the Subscriptions tab. The Free Play Days collection will show up in this area. This week's Free Play Days promotions will end on Sunday, June 7, at 11:59 pm PT.
    • It STILL has horrid theme support. Hard to look at for me. The white is too bright, and the black too dark. I'm using classic outlook for the Dark Grey theme. It's just right for me.
