Thank you thank you Agent Smith....I so agree with this! It wil be out when it is out....so before you all start (keep) whining about the release date; just remember, where would you be without all of this fine effort on their part? Still downloading updates from MS, that's what...:)

Thank you. :) I'm actually currently writing down all that's in the Dec Update, so in the next hour or so you'll have a complete list to check out. :D

also it would be awesome to have a link to the download on the main page instead of

sifting through this entire post for a current download link...

so far this will be awesome for me to have!!

also i just thought that this would be bad a$$ to have slipstreamed into a

XP install CD too!!

PM me with details and i'll work on slipstreaming all the updates or

do add it to a batch install file!

So I assume you missed this Pinned thread: Current AutoPatcher XP Information and Download

And someone was working on making one I think, or something like it... check it out here, maybe you can continue where he left off: Unofficial AutoPatcher XP Unattended CD Tool I tell you, if someone could make something like this that works, I'd include it in the next release. (Y)

sorry i missed the link, im lazy (yes, i am man enough to admit it)

but anything that strikes my interests i will do to the end in a short while.

ive been working on a slip stream XP CD so i can mirgrate to my new

shuttleX mini nforce2 box. enlight of this new auto patcher. i will definately

work on slipstreaming it into a CD. and be more than happy to make a

short, easy guide on how to do it and still leave room on the CD for more

stuff.

Seriously, if you could get a working guide how to do it, or a tool, or anything... I would very much appreciate it. Feel free to make your own thread in here about it and track your progress. :)

how about this...

i went to the autopatch website and when looking at the screenshots, i got a spin of inspiration (or gas)

when selecting custom options, i think there should be a function to write it to a file and

when doing an install, lets say off a slipsteam/unattended install, it would read the options

off the file and install silently in the background...

that would make is super easy to install, especially when making a unattended install disc!!

(edit)

i just saw your reply, i'll start working on the guide right now and i'll change it as you update

the prgm.

Well technically, it does write it all to a file. Though I'm not sure it would be useful in making an unattended install (in the November Update it's called autopatcherxp.dat), or maybe it would. Did you see what he was trying to go here: https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=115726 with the unattended install tool for AutoPatcher? Is it possible to continue his work, since he stopped a bit back? Or maybe base it off of that? Either way, I say, play with it, feel free to make a thread and let the "Group Mind" of Neowin help. ;)

im checking out his bat file now...

im working with it and the november autopatch. im sure it will be the generally the same

in the respect towards using the program

Cool beans! I'd really love to see something like this working! (Y) :D

Me three, the combination is something I could use......to bad Real Life caught up with him....

I know, it was cruising along and then he had to unplug himself from the net... so hopefully we can all finish his work. :D

ok, im almost done, w/ the customization...

but this will be solely based on Nov. 4.1 release!!!

i will still be under the impression that the format of the new autopatch wont change

and only the updates w/in autopatch will.

flishfun, let me know if i assume right.

thanks!!

Actually you assume wrong. We totally changed the format of everything for the Dec Release (much neater, and the format won't change from this), so you'll have to wait till tonight/tomorrow to check it out. But if you can get it working with the Nov release, I'm sure you can do it with the Dec. :)

sorry guys i am not lost, im just downloading my tool now and will continue support if the other guy would like to help i am more than happy, i finally got my comp working again :(, lmao for the last 3 weeks ive been running all my internet access thru knoppix :shame: cos i had no time with all my hard work and revising for exams etc. well flish good luck with new release, give me 5 mins to ghost a working install and then i can carry str8 on where i left off.

Hey Jono... good to see you back! Was beginin' to think you'd abandoned us. lol Anyways, I'd love to see you and Shifty (that's who you couldn't remember) get this up and working within the next month. It's a very useful tool and many people would thank you if it was included in the next release of the AP. :)

what's the status flish?

Status is, I've JUST finished everything, now I'm bringing it home and gonna merge it with the the last copy of the AP. I'm going to then post all the details (size, etc) and then I'm going to give it a test run. I'll post what I found (errors if any), and then... if it's all perfect, I'll start uploading. The site is done (as much as I can do for now... you'll see what I mean when it launches here soon)... and yes, all the forums point back to here, so don't worry. :)

    • Anyone who expects MS to play fair is a complete idiot.
    • Everyone behaves like Internet Explorer just never happened and Edge is whole new thing all while Microsoft is pulling the exact same ###### it did back then. Sigh.
