So had this discussion awhile back - why you might not want to post your SSID or ones in your area on a public forum..

So NeoBond -- I show that network snipped here.. I would assume that is very close to where your wifi name is you posted?

True. Because every person that posts something online is going to instantly be targeted and killed by a crazed person, right?

I could care less who knows mine, getting connected to it is the fun part ;p

I get bored in my flat and change my Wifi every now and again. We've had:

Avengers Assemble and our neighbours changed theirs to SHIELD.

Rodimus Prime

Hide Yo Kids Hide Yo Wifi

Pretty Fly For A Wifi

Currently its WAN Mata (as in Juan Mata, Chelsea footballer)

If you could care less, then why don't you even have your location City or Country even in your profile?

Since NeoBond has snipped out my map and SSID he posted that shows up - guess it was pretty close ;) hehehe Which was my point quite some time ago when people were posting their SSIDs

Nowhere did I suggest that any crazed person would go after anyone.. Just wanted to point out that there are many different databases that show location of SSIDs and wireless macs - that do allow for location finding to fairly accurate location sometimes.

If you have concerns of someone knowing where your wifi network is located within a few hundred feet.. Then you might not want to be posting your SSID is all I am trying to say..

That being said - continue with what your doing..

edit: btw @Neobond I don't think you have to worry about your actual SSID, I show well over 2000 with that exact same SSID ;)

Never took the time to fill it out, but is that better?

Its not in the phone book under Ph1b3r0pt1c that is for sure ;)

So why not just use your real name then? What already taken your phone number down???

I didn't take it down?

My real name, AND social security number have already been posted elsewhere in this forum also :D

    • Brave Browser 1.91.178 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package. Brave Browser 1.91.178 changelog: Fixed certain extensions not working as expected. (#56271) Fixed inability to use Brave Sync in certain cases. (#55203) Upgraded Chromium to 149.0.7827.196.
