So I played against a G8 the other day. Not sure how long you had to have been playing to get there by now.  Highest I've seen apart from that was a bunch of G5s. Guy wasn't even that great :p

I've played against tons of G10 players on Xbox One. Were you matched with him? Some of the higher-level players are garbage, they just play non-stop.

Little more info:

In the wake of the Battle of Demeter, IMC Expeditionary Forces travel deep into Frontier space to recover from their recent defeat. On an uncharted world, the IMC begin construction of a new fleet operations base, using newly acquired water collection and filtration plants to support the new base. When drainage operations reveal ancient ruins and artifacts of an unknown origin in a nearby swamp, Spyglass activates an archaeological team to investigate the site. To maintain battle readiness at the new base, IMC Pilots use simulation pods to train for anticipated Militia raids, based on lessons learned in Angel City and IMC Airbase Sierra.

Titanfall Expedition is the first of three new content packs with each pack available for $9.99. For fans looking to get all three content packs while saving a few bucks, the Titanfall Season Pass is the way to go. Available for a one-time price of $24.99*, the Titanfall Season Pass is available for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC and delivers all three content packs as soon as they become available.

Sounds cool, though at this point I don't know how quickly I'd give up $10 for 3 maps as I'm not exactly tired of the current selection.

Great to hear there's DLC coming, will likely get it now that i've given in and decided to try for Gen 10  This game is just too much fun to let go, already had it uninstalled then brought it back hahahaha, the wonder of "cloud computing"

I heard about the DLC, 3 maps seems a little light though. I know it's a while off so hopefully it won't just be the three maps. Ideally I'd want to see new weapons (both pilot and Titan) and more abilities.

Each of the three DLCs will be $10 each. That's how you save $5 with the season pass. Unless you can wait for sales ;)

Thanks for the info Spense, might get the season pass then, though am still somewhat against the concept. Fully understand the need to make money in a growing industry, that eventually benefits us as gamers and stakeholders, but $60 for the main game then the $20 for the pass...sure it's all optional, but if you want it, then it adds up. In the case of Titanfall, that adding up is likely a good thing, as i'm quite fond of it :D

So I got thegame from cdkeys.com and I like it... BUT...

1 - I wish I could play the campaign as a single player without getting put in horribly inbalanced teams and with idiots.even if the campaign is stupid.

2 - the matchmaker is absolutely horrible. it's like it goes out of it's way to put bad and low level players together. it's like 1 out of 10 matches it gets a balanced team or I get on the good team.

3 - the interface must be designed by monkeys. usability wise it's not horrible but it's certainly not great. but the worst part is. ANYTHING you do requires loading something on the interest. ok you want to play, loading, you want to play multiplayer, loading, you want to play hardpoint, loading, game starting, loading... OMG! There should be no loading untill the game loads, and there should be no waiting untill the matchmaking starts.

Team balancing was addressed in a recent patch, with some success. It's getting better but agree it could be way better. Hopefully over time it'll get there. Others have mentioned here (and I agree) levels and generations that players have, have little or no relation to their actual skill.

Loading is an issues, always find tea and biscuits help for this part. ;)

CoD with mechs and thrusters? I was VERY disappointed during the reveal, that said I enjoy laming around in CoD from time to time, so I might be picking this one up at some point.

The interface is a complete mess, too cluttered and big.

It was great in the beta and after the update for a short time, but apparently they reverted a lot because I have been in a lot of crap matches recently.

I'm not really sure what's going on, but I'm sure the amount of low level players is thin.

Finally hit 50 and regenerated the first time. I thought I was going to stop and play Tomb Raider at this point and then come back to Titanfall, but I'm kind of addicted.

Same here, but can't get away from it. Thought level 50 and the regen achievement would be closure, but even typing this i keep getting the craving - the sound of the CAR, that papery effect when choosing burn cards...the glory of it all!

However...

Glad you got it, and agree with much of what you say. The campaign as it stands is a waste of space. As a bot campaign it would have worked very nicely.

The matchmaking is indeed terrible. And since the patch it got worse - all they have to do is shuffle the teams! But no, now if one team is clearly stronger than the other it just kicks the winners out of the lobby, leaving the losers not only losers but also waiting for a new match, which can take some time.

I do not agree that the interface is bad, it is excellent. I really do like it.

Respawn turned down the level of the matchmaking after it went live. They had too many complaints that it was taking a long time to find matches. I don't know if it's just because of which region I'm in (Europe) and the time that I play (mainly evenings and weekends) but I've never had to wait a long time for a match. The matches that I do join are always balanced too. Played a match last night where we were losing by a hefty amount, we turned it around and one by a single point.

Still loving it, and looking forward to the changes/maps and hopefully weapons.

They really do need to stop the constant loading thought, that is annoying.

FYI - anyone that plays the game, I would follow Respawn on Twitter, usually the first place I find out about updates.

What's starting to annoy me now is the seemingly invincible players. We're both in titans both alone, I blast him with fire first, then I use the vortex shield as he shoots at me catches his projectiles and special ammo, throw it back at him and then continue blasting him.... and then I die... at this point he hasn't really hit me once yet...

The two modes they've implemented the new matchmaking system on are still absolutely atrocious in my book. The lag is still significantly greater than all the other modes, and teams are far more frequently unbalanced (and it still takes 5+ minutes to find a match). Respawn apparently thought it'd be a good idea to base the matchmaking almost solely on skill, which is just silly. It'd make far more sense to have an aggregate team skill and try to match the players up that way while keeping the focus on connectivity. That way there are good and bad players on each team, which makes it a much more enjoyable experience, and you can still either learn from better competition or feel like you're doing well.

I've avoided Attrition and Hardpoint since the updated matchmaking was implemented, which is a shame because Hardpoint is by far my favorite mode.

    • Hello, It would appear so, according to https://finance.yahoo.com/news/how-to-hide-your-home-on-google-maps-apple-maps-204146687.html. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Hello, The Nvidia Founders Edition 3080 video card is approximately six years old, correct? Have you looked into whether replacement fans are available for it? Perhaps replacing those will improve cooling, especially when combined with cleaning the card's heatsink and replacing the thermal interface materials. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Hello, While ~104 GB of space may seem generous (at least compared to other e-readers which have 8-32GB), I feel at this price point the device should have a Micro SDXC card slot for expansion, particularly if it allows audio books to be installed and played. I hope to see more reviews of 6" phone-sized e-readers on Neowin in the future. It will be interesting to see how they compare. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky

Sandboxie allows you to run your browser, or any other program, so that all changes that result from the usage are kept in a sandbox environment, which can then be deleted later. Sandboxie is a sandbox-based isolation software for 32- and 64-bit Windows NT-based operating systems. It is being developed by David Xanatos since it became open source, before that it was developed by Sophos (which acquired it from Invincea, which acquired it earlier from the original author Ronen Tzur). It creates a sandbox-like isolated operating environment in which applications can be run or installed without permanently modifying the local or mapped drive. An isolated virtual environment allows controlled testing of untrusted programs and web surfing. Sandboxie is available in two flavors Plus and Classic. Both have the same core components, this means they have the same level of security and compatibility. What's different is the user interface the Plus build has a modern Qt based UI which supports all new features that have been added since the project went open source. The Classic build has the old no longer developed MFC based UI, hence it lacks support for modern features, these features can however still be used when manually configured in the Sandboxie.ini. • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
