iTunes and Spotify in Window 8.1 Preview

Recommended Posts

I just installed Windows 8.1, and iTunes and Spotify have stopped working properly. I re-installed them both but still no joy. They appear to work perfectly other than the playing the music part. They recognise that you have selected a track, but then it doesn't play. Any ideas gratefully received.

I should add, sound works fine generally.

No problems with Spotify here, either (8.1 Preview x64 Pro with Media Center).

Have you tried Windows Media Player or another application such as VLC, or Modern apps?

If it's affecting both it might well be a library or a driver issue.

I use VLC regularly, sometimes WMP and Spotify. I also use the occasional Metro App.

Havent put Itunes on but i'm afraid the only issue I have had with spotify is it forgot my login details once.

No problems with Spotify here - either playing from the cloud OR from my local library (8.1 Pro Preview x64).
