Man of Steel sequel to feature Batman (and others) (2016)

I nearly had a heart attack when I read the bit about Beiber. But at the same time I'm like theyarecomingforyou, I was disappointed with the Superman film (I didn't have high hopes before, but sitting there watching it was difficult) and so the only reason I'm interested in this is for Cranston and Batman himself.

A tired and weary Batman? I enjoyed the character in The Dark Knight Returns, I got a sense of his constant fight over the years bringing him down. That's the kind of thing that draws me to Batman, his human side, so I'm not adverse to this. But now my question is, can Affleck do an old, tired man well? Bear in mind that Batman was supposed to be in his 60's in The Dark Knight Returns, and for me Affleck would have a hard time portraying that.

i could definitely go for seeing Beiber get beaten mostly to death with a crowbar followed by a nice explosion.

dark knight returns is my least favorite.

Batman really becomes a god. despite being in his 60s he's still buff as hell and able to beat criminals. He takes a bullet and multiple stab wounds to the gut from the joker before making an escape from the police and then after getting stitches just decides he can go for some vigorous horseback riding to keep calm on the gotham streets after an EMP... and after all that he beats superman, a character regularly shown to be a god,  in a fist fight..

That batman sucks. you have to suspend far too much disbelief. .. and the homo-erectic joker in that story is sickening.

dark knight returns is my least favorite.

Eh, to each their own. I agree that given his situation he takes a lot of **** and yet still manages to go against Superman. But I found it to be an interesting look at a superhero in their future. Worn, battered, old and tired, but still having to continue their crusade.

he would have been lucky to be be back on the streets after 3 months of recovery from the bullet and stab wounds that he rightly should have died from.

who really survives this sort of thing and walks it off after some stitches and a few hours rest?

This is a far better vision of Batman in his 60s

he's just an old guy who is starting to have too many health problems and can't do it any more.

I can't watch the video at the moment as I'm at work, but I would point out that it's a comic book. If you've got an alien that can only be killed by a green rock, I think I can roll with the idea of a human making a remarkedly speedy recovery. But again, to each their own. I like the version of Batman in The Dark Knight Returns, you don't so much. Fair play.

i get the point about personal preference. but what always made batman different in my eyes was that he was always just human. you could make the speedy recovery argument if a couple weeks went by... but this borders on wolverine's recovery time. as i said, for dark knight returns... there is simply too much disbelief to suspend.

I doubt that's the title, I think it's more of a "working title".  They're not going to hide what movie they're working on now, too late anyways, but many movies have fake titles to keep them secret.

Yeah to plain of a title to have as a big film

A top-secret, incredibly vague casting call has reportedly been sent out to agencies, looking for an actress who appears to be physically strong and somewhere between 25 and 35. While Warner Bros. and the movie?s production team is keeping mum about? well, about everything, the reported chatter at some of the agencies is that this casting call is actually for the part of Wonder Woman.

Now, we only have industry scuttlebutt to go on here ? and, technically speaking, not even insider industry scuttlebutt ? but Bleeding Cool argues that the secrecy surrounding the casting call means that the character must be very important, and Wonder Woman would fit the bill, most likely in some sort of small role that would set up a spin-off movie.

Of course, the more likely interpretation, assuming the actual casting call is even legit, is that the part is actually a villain of some sort. Still, I guess it?s officially not impossible that this movie will introduce not just the latest incarnation of Batman but also the third member of DC Comics? core trinity. But ?not impossible? is as far as I?m prepared to go with this one, for now.

?The pair chatted about the idea with earnest abandon throughout the course of Emmy weekend. Larry has long been courted by the big budget superhero industrial complex, being linked to roles in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man sequels nearly a decade ago. But Ben is somebody he trusts and enjoys spending time with and this could be the right situation for Larry to finally appear in a huge-grossing hit film. Fun speculation that it could be for the famed Superman enemy role of Mister Mxyzptlk could make this piece more exciting, since Larry is a dead ringer for the character. Ben and his personality are taking over this whole production ? he could come out of this with a producer credit."

However, when it comes to whether or not they believe those recent rumours that the mysterious character is Wonder Woman, they add: "No. I put in some calls and the professionals I know that work in talent don?t think so either. They think it?s a love interest for Bruce Wayne. Could both them and I be wrong?

This sounds more reasonable to me. I don't think we'll see Wonder Woman before the JL movie.

If/When they introduce Wonder Woman, I hope they go back to basics. I don't care for the

whole "Female Superman" take where she flies and so forth. Gimmie a straight Amazon

woman with magic items: wrist bands, lasso, etc.

Wonder Woman will have to be tackled very delicately. The animated films have done a good job with her but live action is something different entirely. It's far too easy for her to end up being incredibly cheesy.

If they would just follow the lead of the animated films they would do fine.

    • If I could, I would commemorate it the best way possible: Replacing old machines that are still running Windows XP with something more modern, stable and better.     Noone and nothing should be running Windows XP in 2026.
    • Google's new hand-wave reCAPTCHA can be bypassed with a stock photo by Ivan Jenic Image: Screenshot Google is testing a new reCAPTCHA method that asks you to wave at your camera to prove you're human. So, besides solving puzzles and reading distorted text, you can now use your computer’s camera to pass the verification test. When the hand gesture verification is triggered, your browser asks for camera access and prompts you to perform a simple gesture, like a wave or an open palm. Google says it records a short video of the movement and uses AI to extract 21 hand-knuckle coordinates to complete the verification process. The video is then immediately deleted, and Google swears it doesn't keep it. The process alone can be uncomfortable for people who wouldn’t want their biometric data, which hand scans technically qualify as, recorded. But it gets even more nuanced, as early testers discovered that the new hand-waving reCAPTCHA can be passed with a simple stock image. A user on X tested the new challenge using a stock image of a hand fed through OBS Virtual Camera, and it passed. I wanted to verify it, so I tried the same thing. It took me a few tries and a few stock images, but in the end, I was also able to pass the test. I simply had to readjust the stock image of a generic person waving inside OBS, and Google’s mechanism registered it as a legitimate hand gesture. Once again, it didn’t even have to be a video or an AI-generated hand animation. Given the simplicity of the process, the entire action can be automated in minutes. All it takes is a simple Python script to render the new reCAPTCHA method obsolete. And it doesn’t even have to be an AI bot, which is usually used for solving puzzles and other verification methods. The new reCAPTCHA method is still in its early phase, and Google will, hopefully, update its AI to at least reject still images. However, this incident, combined with users’ initial skepticism about Google’s practices regarding user data, likely won’t make too many people wave at the camera anytime soon.
