Thx for the reply

i found some nice links But the only thing i realy looking for is a tutorial to

to edit the shell32

to replace it is no problem

thx

ok sorry i misunderstood.

umm if u still need help with editing that file and ur not in any rush pm me and i can give u the information when i return sunday nite aust. time. otherwise just in quick response. from what i saw in another post where some1 was helping you i think he gave u a resource listing for shell32.dll that showed what icon was what number. that is quite useful for preparing to replace the shell, saves heaps of time. the programs i use are ResHacker and Restorator. ResHacker is Freeware as far as i know but lacks the drag n drop feature of Restorator. i use both of them for different needs. there are other resource hacking programs around, have a look i guess and see what meets ur needs. o yeah.. if using reshacker go to icon group to replace icons not icon.

Restorator

ResHacker (Resource Hacker)

cheers mate!

really no more replies from me for now, lol. gonna be late :(

hey dreamweaverN sorry about that. i didnt make that file so i had no control over what version was used but thanx for bringing that to my attention. looks like i'll have to make a replacement of that file for the latest version. will only take a couple seconds. but i think you'll have to wait for mavis to get to me about uploading and till mavis has got it ready for everyone else to download.anyway will do the latest version of that file now.

cheers

Fizical

*** update ***

file done! =)

Ta for that! I must say the whole thing is great. Can't wait till those other files! :woot:

ok guys, I've uploaded all of the hacked system files from Fizical, and updated the download page of my website ...

Download the system files here: http://www.mavisxp.com/crystal

I am going to stop direct linking to the files here on the boards, because for some reason I am unable to go back and edit my posts - which means that if the files are updated, etc, it is impossible to go back and change the links I've provided in earlier posts. So, I'll just update the crystalMX website and post here as changes/additions are made ...

Anyway, the files are uploaded and ready!! Thanks again, Fizical! :)

thnx for the extra link mate :D
np ... ;)

I just checked my site stats - lol ... I'm getting hammered pretty hard. 1.2GB transfered in the past 7 hours and 40 minutes ...

Anybody up for some mirrors? :D ... I don't think I'll need it (I'm allowed 3GBs transfer per day) but just in case - is anyone willing to mirror the icon set if my site gets temporarily suspended? Like I said, I don't need it yet - just trying to plan ahead in case the site does go down for a few hours, etc ...

What is the name of the whistler looking VS you're using with them in the sshot? They go very well together! And a download link if you have one!! :D
That is WatercolorLite, you can find links to dl it here: https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=65112

I've been using this theme for about nine months, I've yet to find another which even comes close - it's almost perfect. And it matches the Crystal icons, so what more could I ask for? ;)

Ok, I've got WaterColor lite, but the sidepanels of the windows (like the left side of my computer) don't look the same as in the screenshot. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Yeah, you've got a newer version ... ;) check your PM ...

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that I've made a crystalMX IP theme, but I'm going to wait a couple of days before releasing it - my site is about to be disabled for exceeding my daily bandwidth cap (3GBs) so I want to wait until the traffic slows down on the main set before posting more stuff ...

These are coming from my cable connection so don't hammer me to hard or I'll have to take them down.

Icon Pack

Shell32

Shell Pack

Edit: Looks like Mavis's links are working again. I'm sure his are faster, but I'll leave these up awhile as backup.

The shell32 is meant to change your icons in your Start Menu as well. Did those change? Also, the copy/move/delete/internet download animations are changed. For the visual style, you have to get StyleXP (or the uxtheme.dll patch .. do a search around these forums) and apply the msstyles file, which you can get from here.

    • Funny, but I didn't had the issue. All PC's at work are Dell and we had the culprit version of Support Assist for about 2 weeks until we got the new one. No problem at all. And for checking you can also use Dell Command Update, no need to search in windows settings. Just check the Upgrade History.
    • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
