Song isn't great obviously, but as with Friday, it has a catchy kinda beat. If you take out the singing, it isn't that horrible.

 

Also, I think it was Fallon (maybe Kimmel but I don't think so) who did a "cover" of Friday with Steven Colbert as a guest along with Taylor Swift and the Roots of course. THAT was a fantastic was to do Friday :D

Was Friday really a smash hit or was it just a video that went viral because it was so cringeworthy?

Well the original Youtube video had something like 85 million views (it might be way more than this). And when she reupped it after all the stupid crap she got etc, I think that new video of Friday has something like 35 million or 25 million views.

 

So whether that means people just couldn't help themselves and watched it like a car wreck on the side of the street - or alot of people really kinda dug it a bit and spread the word. Who knows though.

She knows she sucks, before when she released Friday I think she thought she was a good singer and the song was a good one. Now she is just playing to the crowd.
