SAN ANTONIO -- Nearly a year ago a self-described professional Bigfoot hunter claimed to have shot and killed one of the creatures in San Antonio.

As in Texas?

I thought that they lived in northern territories (if indeed they existed) where they can hide in vast woodlands, and it's cooler and so on...?

Or did the 'hunter' shoot a guy in fancy dress :shifty:

If this was real and Bigfoot had DNA remotely close to a human's, then Dyer *could* be charged with murder.

I think that would depend of the percentage of matching DNA, more than what percentage is considered as acceptable etc...

That video of the "bigfoot" looks considerably different than the picture of it's dead face.  I call BS, but it's interesting that he wants to do a news conference with the body.

I'm guessing that it took him a year to fabricate the body to look somewhat legit.

Dyer decided to lure the creature by buying ribs at the nearby Walmart and nailing them to the trees.

?Bigfoot ripped the ribs off the tree and casually started to walk away. Every four or five steps, it did the ?classic Bigfoot? look, turning its head every few seconds,? Dyer wrote on his website. He said he took the fatal shot with a rifle after Bigfoot allegedly knocked over his friend.

Too funny wonder how much hes getting from walmart to plug them!

I am surprised any news agency would carry this story as the guy has been a monumental fake so many times in the past. I suppose it would increase viewership perhaps its just stupid though.

As in Texas?

I thought that they lived in northern territories (if indeed they existed) where they can hide in vast woodlands ...

Originally, he claimed near two highways in Texas.

Which is suspicious on its own.

Now the story has been 'corrected' to the killing taking place in Washington state.

When the story details start shifting like this, it kills off all belief.

And no 'news conference' has apparently taken place.

All he is going to exhibit is a taxidermied body, which probably is a surgically altered ape.

Along with his previous hoax, and the odd Las Vegas casino 'investors', this has lost all credibility. ;)

UM... is bigfoot considered a animal or person!

Let's assume that bigfoot is real  :santa:. If he's real, he's probably a sort of human. If so, then why didn't this hunter keep bigfoot alive? If he hadn't murdered him, he could have:

1. found out what language bigfoot speaks  :ike:

2. discovered why bigfoot is so scared  :omg:  of "normal" humans

3. got the answer to the question of how many  :bounce: bigfoots there are

4. sold bigfoot sperm  :hump:  to "normal" women who want to see if they can conceive (providing bigfoot agreed to this)

5. checked with scientists to see if bigfoot's hair  :punk:  and bodily secretions  and body parts  (Y)  had some medicinal value for "normal" humans (providing bigfoot agreed to this)

6. determined bigfoot's economic value  :pc:   and place in society  :trout:  (could they work in factories or perform tasks hazardous to "normal" humans? could we breed a bigfoot army  :busted: to replace "normal" soldiers in wars? could bigfoot be trained to work on Wall Street  :phone: ? would this be ethical?)

Instead, he shoots bigfoot (probably committing murder in the process) and turns his corpse into a freak show!

UM... is bigfoot considered a animal or person!

I believe Washington state has designated Bigfoot as a protected species.

Whereas , be it resolved that any premeditated, willful and wanton slaying harassing or any malicious activities upon such creature shall be deemed a felony punishable by a fine not to exceed One hundred Thousand Dollars ($100.0000) and/or imprisonment, not to exceed ten (10) years

Bigfoot body: Arizona tour canceled

If you've ever wanted to see Sasquatch, keep looking.

A sideshow-like display featuring an alleged Bigfoot body has canceled its Arizona appearances because they had nowhere to put it on display.

The specimen comes from Rick Dyer, a self-proclaimed "Bigfoot Tracker" whose web site says, "I tracked a creature. I shot it. With tears in my eyes, I watched it take its last breath." Dyer says that was in 2012.

Dyer hired promoter Andrew Clacy to book stops on the "I Told You So" tour. Clacy told CBS 5 News that the body has undergone DNA testing, MRI scans, an autopsy, and more scientific testing in the last year. However, results from those tests are not yet available.

Clacy had been negotiating with various Valley locations that might be interested in hosting the exhibit. He said shopping malls or other venues should want to pay him to have the display on site because of the tremendous crowds it would bring in.

CBS 5 News has learned that Clacy could not find a single venue that would pay him for the show, nor could he find a venue that would allow him to set up if fees were waived.

Dyer and Clacy insist the body they have is not a hoax.

"I spent hours looking at the specimen and it's real," Clacy says in a Youtube video. "I've touched it, its skin. It's not a joke."

    • Closed-loop cooling and a custom 800G network protocol let the $7.3B campus run as one AI training machine. Microsoft confirmed June 23, 2026, that its Fairwater campus in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, is fully operational — and the engineering behind it makes the facility something fundamentally different from every data center that came before it. Where conventional cloud infrastructure racks up general-purpose servers and parcels out workloads to each one independently, Fairwater links hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200 Blackwell GPUs into a single, coherent cluster using a two-story building design, 800-gigabit-per-second Ethernet fabric, and a proprietary networking protocol co-developed with OpenAI and NVIDIA. The result, according to Microsoft, is the closest thing to a purpose-built AI supercomputer that any company has ever placed in commercial operation. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319205/20260627/microsoft-opens-fairwater-wisconsin-ai-campus-runs-one-supercomputer-via-800g-ethernet.htm
