It's a cool game.  I picked it and No Regret up on a sale I believe on GoG a while back.  I'll take DRM free over tied to Origin anyday and they're only like $6 each even without the sale.

Lies. Someone told me that with a $150 HDMI cable and a special gaming prayer I can make every game run at 4K res on my PS1. You obviously don't understand the programming world. Also, your rich uncle died in Nigeria and left you $100,000,000. Contact me for details on how to pay my small commission fee of $50,000 to claim your inheritance.

Theme Hospital is now free.

 

They are blowing me away with these freebies . . . . . . . . .

The Sims 4 was added to Game Time (and Battlefield 4 returns to Game Time).

 

Apparently, for all the moanage and groanage about Crysis 3, it's not underperforming enough to land there.

Theme Hospital is worth more than any of those modern games.

i loved the game when it first came out.

 

 

but trying it again now, i cannot get past the old graphics and interface.   it is just not fun.

my gaming tastes changed though,   and i have not played SIM or strategy for over 10 years now, so that could be the reason

 

 

but yeah, depending on the game, graphics can be important or not. 

 

i just played grim fandango remastered, and except for main characters, and music, the backgrounds did not change, and still look amazing.  the only think that i really cared was controls, since that was the biggest change!

i am a sucker for adventure games.

Not quite free but you can get Syndicate Wars on GoG.com for under $6. You can get both together for under $10. I picked them both up from there somewhere along the way.

 

but, it's not free. I like things for free :D

That's why I didn't mention Syndicate earlier because by all means get it for FREE from Origin.  However you expressed interest in Syndicate Wars which Origin isn't currently offering for free (and we don't know they will ever do so) so I just thought I'd let you know it was available for cheap from GoG in case you weren't aware.  Sure cheap isn't as good as free but cheap NOW is better than MAYBE getting it free at some point in the future IMHO.  If you're not interested though that's fine too. :)

this is all true, how ever I already have syndicate and syndicate wars for my amiga, which is still alive and kicking :D :D.

 

getting it sometime down the line for free is just a bonus :)

      Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
