Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Bleeding Cool said it would be odd if he's the Flash, because why only use green screen on the lower-legs/feet. So they said it could be Metallo, and those green parts are robotic parts.

So people see a green suit under his clothes and exposed at the lower legs and they think, The Flash! And sure enough you can check sites and find people claiming that McNairy is playing Barry Allen.

Now I just don?t see that. Why would you just have the lower legs showing on the Flash? What about his powers needs to be CG from the kneecap down?

The other speculation? and I?m more likely to buy this one? is that he?s playing Metallo. I can see a scenario where he looks like normal John Corben until you get to the robotic feet.

Either way, what these photos tell us is that McNairy is playing something that gets CG feet? or he has really really odd taste in socks.

Someone on Twitter thought it could be Will Magnus, creator of the Metal Man. Who could potentially work on Cyborg over at S.T.A.R. Labs. But then again, why would he have green screen on his feet?

Nice, but yeah, limited neck movement maybe?

Yep, but that was confirmed with the first reveal ;) I personally don't mind it to be honest because this is the first suit that looks as close as possible to the comic-book version.

But even in the comics/animated movies/series, he can move his head around.  I wonder why it's so hard to do that in the live action movies really?

It's going to sounds lame; but that's because it's drawn and not real material. There's a Making-Of video of "Batman (1989)" where they talk about why Michael Keaton wasn't able to turn his head. If he turned his head to the left, there would be a huge gap on the right side of the cowl, as it wouldn't move with the head. The material that they use for the cowl can't stretch the same way it can in drawn versions of the cowl.

Otherwise they'd have to go the same way as they went with The Dark Knight. While the method they used in The Dark Knight looked awesome, I'm kinda glad that the cowl is attached to the cape in this film.

I agree that it looks great in this new version but I also think it's possible to have some level of movement even when it's attached as one piece.  The neck area doesn't have to be so rigid for example, though the overall look of it is to make him seem bigger/meaner etc, I just think it's doable in some creative ways.

Apparently Scoot's role has been revealed...

"Scoot is playing Jimmy Olsen, but with a bit of a twist. Jimmy was injured during the battle of Zod vs Superman. His legs where pinned under falling building rubble and that caused him to lose the legs. He now walks with the use of two prosthetic legs." The source goes on to add "He doesn't blame Superman for it [his loss of legs]. He feels grateful that Superman saved the world."

I don't know to be honest. It think the cowl would flap open either way because of how the cowl looks.

It might just be those photos, but I also think at the end of MoS, that when he's dressed up as Clark he doesn't look as buff as when he's in the suit.  I suppose they're using cloths that are a few sizes too big to hide his pecks?   Anyways, I don't remember a jail scene from TDKR, are they using something from the comic in this case as well or no?

They're not completely adapting TDKR, only taking a few things from it.

Yeah, which is why I'm asking if this "jail scene" is something from it or not, because I don't remember one, but it's been a while.

Ah, it looked like you thought they were adapting TDKR. But nope, there's no jail scene in it :p

    • AltSendme 0.4.1 by Razvan Serea AltSendme is a minimal, cross-platform application designed for fast, secure, and private peer-to-peer file transfers. It allows users to send files or entire directories directly between devices without relying on cloud servers, accounts, or any personal information. Everything is encrypted end-to-end using modern protocols like QUIC and TLS 1.3, ensuring both strong security and low-latency performance. Transfers are verified with BLAKE3 for data integrity, and interrupted downloads automatically resume, making the experience reliable even on unstable connections. You can transfer anything—images, videos, documents, and more. Integrity checks are performed on both ends, so your files are automatically verified for correctness during both sending and receiving. AltSendme works seamlessly across local networks or long-distance links, capable of saturating multi-gigabit connections for extremely fast delivery. With built-in NAT traversal and encrypted relay fallback, it connects devices almost anywhere. The app integrates with the Sendme CLI and will soon support mobile and web platforms. Fully free and open-source, AltSendme offers a lightweight, privacy-first alternative to traditional cloud-based services, removing size limits, upload costs, and unnecessary data exposure. AltSendme 0.4.1 changelog: Release Highlights Self-hosted relays: Run your own iroh relay so transfers don't rely on public infrastructure. Includes a full deployment template in deploy/relay/ with Docker Compose for a VPS and configuration examples for production use. Fly.io support: One-click deploy template for Fly.io, including a quick-start config (fly.dev.toml) for testing without a custom domain, plus production setup with Let's Encrypt and your own hostname. Relay settings UI: New Settings → Network panel to choose how AltSendme connects: automatic public relays, custom self-hosted URLs (with optional auth token), or disabled. Test connections, verify latency, and see live relay status in the footer. Disable relays: Turn off relay servers entirely when you only need same-network transfers (e.g. LAN). Direct connections only. No relay hop required when devices can reach each other. Android graduates from beta: Android is now part of the regular release cycle alongside desktop. APKs ship with each version (universal, arm64, and armv7). Other improvements Private relay access control via shared auth token Relay fallback notifications when a custom relay is unreachable Broadcast mode toggle in sharing settings Android release build fixes (split-per-ABI APKs, universal APK preservation) UI polish: mobile safe-area insets, dropzone layout, transfer progress animation Bug fixes for minification-related serialization issues and system tray icon loading What's Changed feat(relay): add relay status functionality and settings UI (a120cdf) feat(relay): implement custom relay server configuration and verification (51276c7) feat(relay): add configuration for private relay access and enhance observability features (48fbabf) feat(relay): enhance relay URL validation, display connection status (d4fffa0) feat(relay): add RelayChangeGuard component and enhance relay-related translations (16ba514) feat(broadcast): add toggle setting for broadcast mode in sharing UI (ca6d977) fix(relay): correct QUIC discovery port, pin image, templatize fly.dev (52a2ba5) fix: More broken serialization due to minification (67491a9) fix(android): preserve true universal APK across per-ABI builds (e9f256f) fix(ui): conditional safe-area insets padding on mobile (1182f0e) refactor(transfer): CircularRing component animation fix (944572b) chore(android): drop x86 and x86_64 release APKs, keep universal+arm64+armv7 (34ada0b) Download: AltSendme 0.4.1 | ARM64 | ~9.0 MB (Open Source) Download: AltSendme for MacOS | Android Links: AltSendme Home Page | GitHub | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • You are mostly right about the ephemeral nature of it. As I mention in the article, if you dont add a second device or take a backup of your account before uninstalling it, then yes you will lose access to your account. That said, in terms of actual user experience when you sync multiple devices your message history carries across and there's also a Saved Messages chat like there is on Telegram to send messages and attachments between your installs. But yh, what you point out are correct and its not trying to emulate Messenger or Telegram.
    • OK so SearXNG is a meta search engine that you can install locally or use via a public instance. It scrapes other search engines which you choose and then sorts the results. Not as complicated as multiple relays
