Holy red herrings Batman, that completely has zero to do with ebola, the countries that didn't participate in the treaty being talked about or anything else related to this topic. Awesome job on completely jumping the topic.

He's also forgetting another fundamental problem with his claims...

The countries he thinks are doing it, don't have even close to the level of technology necessary for such a task.

According to my own posts, they are the victims, not the ones doing it.

Then you need to learn to be a bit clearer in your posts, because I got the impression you were accusing those who hadn't signed the treaties of doing it.

The only way to be infected by the Ebola Virus is from contact with blood or bodily fluids of someone or something which has it. It is like AIDS.

They aren't sure if the virus can spread from mosquitoes like malaria yet, but people also do survive the Ebola virus naturally. It would normally be easy to contain the virus but in West Africa they believe in witch doctors more than they believe in real doctors and also distrust the government so they won't even get checked out if they display the symptoms so its bound to spread.

*It has spread across to Nigeria recently*

I don't think its as bad as media has portrayed it so far and also an experimental vaccine has been created which seems to have had positive results,

That's what i find confusing, how can it spread like that so quick?

And here lies the crux of your problem, you clearly haven't done any basic research into how and why this disease gets transmitted. To understand you need to actually read up some. Here is a starting point.

Since people continue with the conspiracy theory on ebola, I'm quoting my own post, maybe I'll get a "no, because" argument from someone.

To all those who think this is a conspiracy, how about smallpox? The last samples of the virus (that we know) were delivered to 2 labs, in the US and Russia. It would be so easy to release this, since there's no cure, only a "vaccine" that has many side effects. Stop the paranoia, I bet that the people in 10.000 BC didn't think the smallpox was a plot to wipe people out. Come on...

That site has bad rep now.  Do you use WOT?  www.mywot.com

I know, but who has the right to choose who lives and who doesn't?, abortion should be legal if that's the case.

Good question ;)

I was talking about reproduction.

Not deliberately killing people.

Those alive would simply die off, in whatever way they do.

Preventing reproduction of those with genetic defects might be a starting point.

But I doubt you will get many people to agree on who has the right to have children, and how many.

I still think its retarded that they let those infected people come to the USA for treatment. Its incredibly selfish of them to want to risk spreading their infection like that. They knew the risk when they decided to go there to help people. Personally I would have said just let them all die over there. Quarantine all of Africa until its totally gone. The risk is just too great for the rest of the world. What I hate most about this is how the media has been down playing this disease like its not so bad. Seriously it has like a 90% mortality rate, why down play ###### like that?

Seriously it has like a 90% mortality rate, why down play ###### like that?

I can't tell if you're just making a really ridiculous trolling statement or just commenting out of ignorance. Those sick doctors didn't just decide to come back to the states on their own, that was a decision made by people much higher then themselves. If you're dying and someone says we can offer you the very best care in the world, you're not going to say no. The amount of care and precaution used to bring them over is unparalleled. There is nothing selfish about wanting to live.

As for quarantining Africa, Im not quiet sure you understand the gravity of that idea. It's beyond stupid just based on the size on the continent alone. Specially given the fact that there usually is a case of Ebola every one to two years, this current outbreak started 6 months ago and it take to about 21 days to incubate. It's akin to saying "you should put your house fire out with a garden hose", it would do little to no good. A quarantine wouldn't mean jack $$$$ so far into this outbreak and by the time it was realized, it still wouldn't have meant squat.

As for the media, it's a big of a double edge sword with them. The media isn't really down playing this, it's those being interviewed, doctors and experts that are down playing it to counter the fear factor so many have, no offense but you're a part of that group. Ebola "can" have a up to 90% mortality rate, simply because the areas that usually are hit by it don't have the resources to care for those infected. Often by the time it shows up, most of the time in tribal and rural areas of Africa, it's already ran it's course through the small communities it hits. It's usually to late to help those infected. Because the communities it hits are small and in far less populated areas, it doesn't have the time to spread out. In this current outbreak, the mortality rate is closer to 50%, because health care has had a greater impact on fighting it.

While Ebola is bad and not something you want to get, it's far less dangerous then over all then the common flu. The flu kills more people each year then Ebola has killed in 40 yrs. This isn't the movie outbreak, you're not going to catch it because someone sneezed in an adjacent room. In a modern country like the US, we have far better resources to deal with this if it were even remotely possible of becoming an issue. Being fearful of the two doctors that were brought over is nothing but ignorance. If you really want a bedtime horror story to sleep to tonight, be more concerned with a crazy person or even a terrorist who purposely infects themselves. Remember it could take up to 20 days or so to incubate, by then they could travel to any part of the world and "try" to infect as many as they could. The reality is, there would be no way of stopping it til the first vector showed up. That's a far more plausible scenario then two doctors under some of the most watched over medical care in this countries history. In other words, pull your head out of the sand.

Here are some links and quotes to get a better understanding.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/02/ebola-symptoms-infection-virus_n_5639456.html

The Zaire strain of the Ebola virus that's involved in the current outbreak has had a fatality rate in the past of up to 90 percent. However, the fatality rate of the current outbreak is lower. That's because "90 percent is when you receive absolutely no medical care,"said Dr. Nahid Bhadelia, M.D., the associate hospital epidemiologist at Boston Medical Center and director of Infection Control at Boston University's National Emerging Infectious Disease Laboratories.

"Right now you're seeing with supportive care, there's a 60 percent mortality in the field," she told HuffPost.

https://www.bcm.edu/departments/molecular-virology-and-microbiology/ebola

Ebola viruses cause a severe and often deadly illness known as Ebola virus disease (EVD, also referred to as Ebola hemorrhagic fever). Fatality rates during EVD outbreaks can be as high as 90 percent. Ebola viruses produce hemorrhagic fever, a condition that also can be brought about by other types of viruses but Ebola produces one of the most lethal forms. In addition to the other symptoms of hemorrhagic fever ? fever, headache, aches, weakness, vomiting, and diarrhea ? the more severe cases can include damage to blood vessels and extensive internal and external bleeding (hemorrhage). Mortality rates for EVD range from 50 percent to 90 percent, with death usually occurring as a result of shock rather than blood loss. The virus is transmitted through direct contact with blood or other body fluids of infected persons or animals, including close contact with deceased Ebola-infected patients.

Kissing the Corpses in Ebola Country

Ebola victims are most infectious right after death?which means that West African burial practices, where families touch the bodies, are spreading the disease like wildfire.

The people brought back to the United States are being treated in facilities designed to counter particularly contagious airborne diseases such as SARS. Ebola by comparison is rather hard to catch. Proper PPE and infection control procedures virtually negate any possibility of Ebola spreading outside of the walls of the hospital in Atlanta.

Ebola worries lots of people because it is a comparatively well known disease - it features prominently in fiction, etc. Marburg Haemorrhagic Fever is another particularly nasty virus along the lines of Ebola, and an infected tourist travelled to the US in 2008, not knowing they had this disease. The risk of disease transmission with that patient were much higher than these patients who are at all times being treated by trained personnel in far superior facilities.

But - no one else became infected with MHF and no one died. This will be exactly the same outcome here: no-one else will become infected.

Villagers began running from the ambulances, trying to burn down hospitals, and attacking humanitarian workers.

Greed is main driving factor behind its adoption; the other is remaining relevant in the face of competition from other entities.
