lt8480
I'm considering setting up a music system for my office (approx 3m x 6m or 10' x 20') but pretty new to this so looking for some advice... Basically I want a system that I can play vinyls on - but would also be good if I could connect the speakers to my computer system so I can play music from CD rips. With a bit of research I've concluded that I need the following to play Vinyl: - Turntable (and cartrdige etc.) + Preamp (if necessary) - Amplifier + Speakers or Active Speakers My question is now how would it be best to connect this to my computer system? - I guess the simplest way is just to connect up a headphone jack.... what I was perhaps wondering most was whether there is a way to connect my NAS and selecting music without the need for my PC to be turned on? lt8480
Looks like a Sonos Play 5 could do the trick... in fact just found this which looks like the sort of setup I need, and I can simply plug in the NAS to the back of the Sonos:http://www.pearlaudiovideo.com/blog/expertise/systems-lt-01/sonos-play-5-project-turntable-953/ Bit pricey - maybe I should start saving for my own xmas present!!! Any thoughts / opinions?
