jeez I hope they push a new build out soon this 9879 build is rubbish compared 9860 which was also rubbish compared to 9x40 so many things crapping out and not running

Not until the new year.

Hopefully the huge kernel bump doesn't break compatibility with some older desktop software.

Personally, I think it's time to let go of some of the crud people are still trying to cling to.

Rumor: presently the new builds are labelled "Consumer Preview", so there probably won't be any updates to build 9879 until public release of Consumer Preview. AFAIK, there were at least 4 updates for Partner builds, so there expects 2~3 further updates for Partner builds. :)

A Chinese OEM guy showed me this, and said it's 989x.If it is real(???), then task bar is no more transparent/translucent , and search is replaced by Cortana. :)

LOL, it took quite a while for Neowin to find that it's a legit shot...... and tks Brad for confirming it. :)

Take as rumor(add salt LOL): MS started work on aero-glass in Win10, from what I heard - "expect to appear in a test build some time in the future, no idea if it would appear in the Jan21 release or not".

btw, some guys had worries about MS "punishing" people download and run leaked builds, I had said a few times not to worry about it, but this time, it's from Gabriel Aul : :)

    • 🤦🏻‍♂️ No, expected because 10 EOL
    • Dude, it's a .reg away from a permanent modification. If you're a power user, look it up and keep the .reg and stop being a crybaby expecting MS to include customization for everything on a generalist OS. The default is what's the best UX for the majority of the userbase, non techie people.

    • Because someone else reported theirs was unusable, genius. But being a Linux user you should be used to that. Next time you think you have a "gotcha", check first.
