where to get a build 9879 ISO?

Recommended Posts

My test computer a 2008 hp dv6838ca and it is stuck on the original tech preview.  I try to update in the preview builds section of pc settings and it says cannot download new preview build and shows some hex number.  This is all it does.  So what I want to know is, is there a way to just download an iso for that build and install it?

these are Enterprise versions, I'm not sure if they can be updated the same way as the consumer versions of Windows 10 TP

Hi Roger,

I need the ISO. Apparently, my upgrade is corrupted... =( Need it to do a clean install!!

Can you upload to onedrive?

I just downloaded the ESD and then did the ESD to ISO conversion.

I can upload it if you really wanna but slow speeds here so it will take a bit.

Be aware that 9879 is quite buggy. Also, start menu replacements no longer function...

Well, they do need to get feedback for the built-in Start Menu, since it WAS pretty much asked to be placed back since Windows 8...

Pretty much registered to ask the same. Though, I have been in search of a good forum for geeks and gamers for the better part of a year.

I have found this page: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso ...but version numbers are not given. I assume, since build 9879 is out, that that is what this is, but I worry it's 9860 or 9641... unsure on the original build number at this time.

9860 is what I am running now and, while I have no complaints, I am unable to perform an update. Searching for and running Windows Update returns the following error:

C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Packages\windows.immersivecontrolpa...

(X) C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\...\AAA_SystemSettings_Update_Actions.settingcontent-ms

The app does not support the contract specified or is not installed.

I built this computer and the one it replaced, and I'll be updating it next Spring. I'm technical enough to run preview builds of Windows, and I would be comfortable running Linux, if not for my gaming hobby. But I'm at a bit of a loss here. I get that the update part is broken and that, one way or another, I will need to perform a full update. I'm okay with that.
