Neowin Uptime Project Group

Recommended Posts

I have another server with an uptime of 62 days that I could add under a different user name. What do you think? Leave some space at the top for other people or boost the Neowin total uptimes/average?

Well, I couldn't care less (as I'll never get up there - curse my low uptimes!), so I've got no problem - and seeing as so many people are whinging about 0d uptimes, maybe putting that on would help :/.

IMPORTANT:

Hi, sorry I thought this one up a few days ago, just haven't got round to posting yet...

OK I thought of a way to get a really high uptime (sorry if this has been posted before) :p

Fire up Virtual PC from Connectix and install like say WinXP in a Virtual PC, install Uptime Client there and keep updating. When you need to restart for whatever, suspend the Virtual PC and restart and restore it when you get back, if my suspicions are right, the client should suspend during the downtime...

I haven't tried this so I don't know if it'd work...

All credz go to me :) because I was thinking long and hard about this one ;)

Hope I could be of some help,

Good luck with your uptime!

Crap - that would work! But it would be kinda annoying - you've gotta have VPC fired up all the time.
