More Microsoft Betas Out the Door

Beta 1 of Windows XP SP2 still isn't quite soup yet. But that hasn't stopped the Redmondiands from launching a other betas over the past couple of days. On Monday, Microsoft announced the release of Beta 1 its Host Integration Server 2004, a product designed to connect their IBM midrange and mainframe systems to Windows servers. And on Tuesday, Microsoft opened up Beta 2 of its Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2004 product to any and all existing Microsoft customers. MOM 2004, due out in the summer of 2004, includes new management packs that allow customers to manage Web services. And Neowin is reporting that Microsoft is poised to kick off the beta test of its Windows Update Version 5 release (which is for XP Home/Pro users who are also testing XP SP2 only).
