Now I've done it. This is what's coming for the next build (needs a day of testing though):

9-09-2015: Dopamine 1.0.0.364 (Preview)

- Fixed a bug where the Mini Player "Always on top" state got lost when double clicking the notification
- Improved indexing speed
- Fixed more Mini Player playlist issues
- Fixed the nasty flicker when switching player modes

Haha. It'd still get flagged. Even if I run it as Admin, it's still flagged :( I can still use it, but I just have to re-extract it, and run it. If it gets flagged again, I use another one. :(

There is no option to whitelist it? Or you don't have the rights to do so probably.

Yup. No rights to whitelist it. Some times I can get it to work, other times I can't :(

What would be tight is if you made a Dopamine Media Controller, so people could use their phones as remotes. My mom's been begging me to find her something like this, lol.

Call it winworde.exe. It will not look like a virus at all this way.

I think Norton would get confused. :p

Oh Dear, a media controller: I don't even know where to start

I spent the evening signing all dll's I'm using in Dopamine. It's a good thing, as Windows will at least consider it as safer. I'm quietly hoping it will also shut up all these anti viruses, but I honestly have no idea.

I can start looking into what would be needed. I know that Logitech's Keyboard (Orion Spark) has an ability like this. However, it'd need to be a bit more in-depth. Having the ability to choose which audio card to use, is something I'd love to see. Right now, I have speakers for my living room, bathroom, garage, and backyard. I have to manually plug cables in, however, I wanted to buy cheap 5.1 Cards, toss them in, and plug them all in. Then write a program that'd allow me to change where the media is going, and only use 1 source. I hate using headphones, my hearing is starting to dwindle, and so I'm avoiding headphones right now.

You can select which Audio card is the source already in Windows, just set which card you want the sound to come from to default and there ya go...

I don't know if this has been requested yet, but when sorting I noticed that things that begin with "The" are filed under "T" for "The," where the "the should be omitted for the sort (e.g. "The Cranberries" should be filed under "C").

yup that's been asked an approved :) It should be simple to do, I'll try to get that in for the next build.

Hey Raphael, not sure if this is possible but it sure would be cool.  This is a snapshot I took from Linux, would it be possible to make something like this happen from the taskbar? or even the system tray?

If you could pull this off from the system tray I will donate... lol

That's quite true, however I'd rather not have to go back inside, and do that change. I use Foobar2000 a lot on my Desktop at home vs Dopamine because I can choose which audio device sends music too. To put it simple.

I have Foobar2000 run through speakers, teamspeak3 / vent run through headphones, etc. Being able to set which device it uses, is incredibly handy when you have multiple sources.

I'm planning choice of audio device sometime later.

It doesn't work that way, I don't accept bribes :D

BUT, I like this idea. I haven't seen it done in Windows yet, so that would make it kind of unique. It would have to happen from the tray because the start menu doesn't give us much options. And on Windows 10 I could add some blur. Conclusion: feature request accepted!

Thank you sir!!! I will still donate...expect something from me soon, I get paid in a few days =)  I use Dopamine every day, so I am thinking I should contribute.  Out of all the music players I have tried Dopamine just sounds AMAZING and that is what really counts.  Such pure true sound out my speakers, I love it!

That'd be nice of you. Thanks :)

Thanks Rafael :)

You're welcome!

To start, I would like to thank you for this beautiful piece of software. I use it in portable version at the moment, but i'm thinking about installing it via the *.msi.

I have a few suggestions and requests to share:

- In the "artists" panel, add the possibility to choose between "artist" and "album artist" in the first column and ascending or descending sorting in the columns
- Support of extended dates (YYYY MM DD) in tags
- Support of "custom tags" as i use "label", "catalog #", ... tags
- Have a better quality covers in panels, especially in artists and albums panels, they look a little blurry on my Surface Pro 3 and my Samsung SyncMaster S27A850T
- In the "listening now" panel, show the previous track played and next track to be played

Oh! and if you need help for French translation which is very very good, you can contact me to have a look :)

Hi! Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Most of the features your asking for are planned, eventually (I'm working as fast I humanly possible :))

What do you mean with extended dates? Is there a tag which is reserved for that? (I'm developing a music player, but I don't know much about the available tags  so feel free to enlighten me :))

Concerning the blurry images: are you using a scaling larger than 100% in Windows? If yes, which scaling? I only did tests with 100 and 125%, so I might have missed this issue.

Feel free to improve/correct the French translation if needed. My french was never 100% and is getting a bit rusty :) I'd be glad to include it in next releases.

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
