I am using the native MS Mouse and Keyboard Center with a Digital Media Pro keyboard

KeyboardTest showed

nCode='0', wParam='&H100', vkCode='176'
nCode='0', wParam='&H101', vkCode='176'

on pressing "next"

Was this while playing a game or similar situation as when pressing media keys don't work in Dopamine?

Nice, waiting for the next preview! :)
I expected that the problem was something like that, thank you for the explanation.

Something else, as i use really often use Dopamine lately, someone already ask about to have, in the "cover play mode" ("lecteur pochette" in french), an option to show the playlist under the visualisation instead of "on the cover", like in the "micro play mode"? I think it would be a nice option.

I understand your request. But I have to think about it. For now I would like to leave it as it is. But as the playlists on all mini players can use some improvement, I don't know yet what direction I'll go in.

Hi everybody. A new Dopamine preview is available:

14-09-2015: Dopamine 1.0.0.372 (Preview)

- Added a Genres screen
- Fixed blurry images on the list of Artists and Albums at Windows scaling of 125% and 150%

Download here

Hi again,

I noticed a small issue with the build I just published: the elapsed and total time is not displayed on the Now Playing screen. This will be fixed in the next build.

And here is a first draft, quickly put together tonight, of the tray controls (just a mockup for now). The real one will have transparency and blur in Windows 10 and a subtle shadow (like the notification popup). Let me know if you have suggestions.

Good job! Covers aren't blurry anymore :)
About the tray controls, it's well rendered, i have no idea what could be more perfect than your draft.

Hi, Raphael!

I'd like to know whether it may be possible to add an option to have transparency without blur.

Thanks and keep up the awesome work, mate! :laugh:

Yeah it's called Window 7 and 8 :rofl: J/K :) I don't know, I mean, almost anything is possible, but I need the blur in some parts of the UI (e.g. in the awesome semantic zoom below :)). I'd like to keep blurring consistent in the whole UI.

Edit: semantic zoom is not a mockup. I'm feeling ill, and when I'm ill I can't sleep, so I do crazy coding stuff at night :shiftyninja:

Fair enough :laugh::rofl:

You should try and get some rest, man ;)

That looks sick!!!!  Windows 10 Transparency blur would be nice too... so it matches the notification center, etc.  Linux users are drooling ... lol

Release it! :woot:

It's not ready yet! :) Unavailable 'letters' are not disabled in the semantic zoom buttons and the scrolling is still kind of crappy :)

Alright. Then I have another request. Please add the colored 1 px line outside dopamine window, and increase the amount of shadows, to better match the universal windows app.

Alright. Then I have another request. Please add the colored 1 px line outside dopamine window, and increase the amount of shadows, to better match the universal windows app.

No possible (well the 1 px border would) but increasing the shadow means losing the nano player. Long story short: the nano player is smaller than the default minimum size for a standard Windows window. I created a window without style, which  as as advantage that it can be smaller than the default, but it loses the standard shadow. So I had to add a custom shadow (which I know doesn't look like the standard shadow).

So, choice people: you want a nano player or not? For me it would be much easier not to :)

I 2nd that!

My opinion is "remove the nano player" :)

well, then just add the 1px border. I like the nano player :laugh:

A slightly higher nano player (approx double the height of the current one) is possible. But that means it doesn't fit the title bar anymore.

What are your opinions on this?

Why do all links in the OP lead me back to this thread?

I think it is a forum upgrade bug :( I noticed the same issue in other topics.

Check out http://raphaelgodart.tumblr.com/dopamine if you are interested in more info.

Go for the higher nano player, the current nano player with height doubled is for me still a "nano player".

Wow. Nice progress since I last tried it. I might start to use it as my default player now.

A small suggestion...
You could hide the search box and make it fade in and expand only when the search glyph is clicked. And of course contract and fade away when the search box loses focus.
One of my pet peeves is visible search boxes. =P

Agreed. If the nano player doesn't fit the title bar, one can simply place it below the screen, just above the taskbar, like I did.

Makes me a sad panda. Mind to fix?

-e- Been there, done that. Waiting for Last.fm support while watching the new AIMP betas growing.

I can't :( A moderator will have to do it.

By the way, I wanted to add Last.fm a few weeks ago. But they upgraded their website and broke some functionality it seems. I can't ask for a developer api key now. So I'm waiting. As soon as they fix their thing, I can continue.

    • It's time to say goodbye to Edge and switch back to Firefox. There's no way to disable the ugly rounded corners that appear everywhere. Not even on the page frame. No one uses screens with rounded corners, you idiots.
    • Being on Github makes it more trustable since I can see the code at any point.
    • Gen Atlas is the next game from Shadow of the Colossus creator, this time with giant robots by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The mind behind widely well-received games like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, Fumito Ueda, showed up at Summer Game Fest today, and that was to reveal his latest project. Being developed by genDESIGN, Gen Atlas is incoming with what looks to be plenty of mech and robot action. Watch the reveal trailer, which makes not much sense, above. The game will have players waking up on an abandoned planet where deserted facilities and grand designs from the original creators remain. Soon, they will stumble upon a colossal robot, from which players gain access to the power to change the world. "Across an endless expanse of time, the remnants of those forgotten constructs begin to move once more," adds the studio. The gameplay snippets seen in the trailer show the player character climbing giant robots (as expected from the creator), while also controlling these titans somehow as well. This is a fully single-player open-world adventure. “The team and I are grateful to all the fans who’ve been eager to learn more about our game,” says Fumito Ueda, CEO and creative director of genDESIGN. “Their passion and enthusiasm has always motivated and inspired us. We hope to share an experience that inspires moments of quiet wonder and discovery.” Before gaining the name Gen Atlas, Ueda first announced this project back in 2024 with the codename Project Robot. Interestingly, this will be a project being funded and published by Epic Games, which should mean that a Steam release is out of the question. Gen Atlas will be releasing on Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced just yet.
    • How backwards can you have it? Yes, Linux was gaining because of Linux handhelds and the push for gaming compatibility, but that's not desktop users, it barely converts anyone who owns a SteamDeck, though it helps for those who wanted to do it, but anyways, the AI+RAM debacle helped Linux because people can't easily upgrade their PCs easily and many hate AI so they'd be incentivized to try Linux.
