Hi! Don't know yet. Basic first, then I'll have a look at what networking/online features I can add :)

Hi everyone!

A new build of Dopamine is available. This is the changelog:

25-12-2015: Dopamine 1.0.0.493 (Preview)

- Updated Bulgarian translation
- Fixed a bug which caused reporting of incorrect image size in the Edit song dialog
- Fixed an inconsistency between how Artists and Genres are displayed in the Edit song dialog
- Improved refreshing of the lists after a metadata change
- Added Loop one
- Added an option in the "Edit song" dialog to also update the album cover in the collection when changing embedded album art
- Added an "Edit album" dialog which allows changing album covers

As always beautifully executed, however it is still lacking "folder play' feature. I know this isn't how most folks organize their libraries but it is a must have for me. Not sure how hard would it be to add this feature though and is it worth the time. In any case great player that is getting better and better. Thx Raphael.

no need for a folder play feature when you select your album and its all on the right side panel. it has been months since I have been in these forums. But it is looking wonderful

Thanks! Folder play is the complete opposite of the current architecture. So it will take quite some time to add. I'll concentrate on what I planned first. But I'll sure have a look if folder play can be added sometime later.

Folder play is super useful when dealing with untagged library, and my library is mostly like that since it has been started way before online shops that tag the music by default. To tag the files manually would take forever (as auto taggers are just too unpredictable or not automated enough...and i did try almost all of them on Windows).

@Raphael..I assume for folder play that you would have to write some sort of simple browser and I am aware that takes time. Keep up the work, I check Dopamine regularly and am looking forward to further development.

Yes indeed. It's like creating a very simple explorer. I'm not a fan of allowing browsing from anywhere starting at "My computer". But I was thinking of letting "Folder playing users" also choose 1 or more Collection folders, then providing an extra screen "Files" or "Folders" and show a treeview which allows browsing through the files and subfolders inside those main folders. How does that sound?

Mainwhile, at the other side of the galaxy: I've been fixing some small annoyances (no build available yet):

27-12-2015: Dopamine 1.0.0.497 (Preview)

- The "Follow song" feature now only jumps to the playing song when it is not visible
- Added an option to start at the last selected screen

Oh no, what has Microsoft done this time . I'll have to install it in a VM to try it out. Thanks for notifying me.

Good job Raphael. Loving this build. One request though, please improve refreshing of the list after removing songs. Right now it's always jumping to the top of the list, quite annoying for me.

It's not just Dopamine.  I have had explorer windows turn up with black borders, too, even though my accent color is blue.  Going into the personalization>color settings (Windows) and changing my color to another color and then back seems to have fixed it.  I'm on the Insider track, though.  That's why I just set the color I like in Dopamine instead of following Windows.

That sounds like a Windows bug then. Thanks for the info.

I've got a new build for you. Most important: it fixes a nasty bug when updating covers in files from the "Edit album" dialog (it doesn't always work). This is the changelog:

28-12-2015: Dopamine 1.0.0.500 (Preview)

- The "Follow song" feature now only jumps to the playing song when it is not visible
- Added an option to start at the last selected page
- Fixed a bug when updating file covers through the "Edit album" dialog

Close to the notification area is not working now, it completely closes Dopamine.

You're right, I broke it. You need a quick fix or can this wait until the next build?

Funny statement, because your postings on the forums have been going on for months!

Is "open the last selected page at startup" supposed to be working already? It does nothing for me...

Yes is should. Only for Artists, Genres, Albums, Songs and Playlists pages. Now playing is not remembered. Those don't work for you?

    • Most boring game ever. Repetitive, empty, predictable, and full of cliches. Total waste of time and money, IMO.
    • Mafia: The Old Country expansion Man of Honor announced, brings back Salieri from original by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe During Summer Game Fest, 2K and Hanger 13 brought out a new Mafia: The Old Country trailer, revealing the game's first expansion. Named Man of Honor, this is slated to add two new chapters to the Enzo storyline that the game follows. There is an iconic character returning to the series with this expansion, with players set to run into Ennio Salieri, the future Don of the Salieri crime family. Fans of the original Mafia, or its Definitive Edition remake, may remember that name as one of the biggest characters in the storyline. This expansion is set prior to his rise to being the kingpin in the City of Lost Heaven. "Set in Sicily during the winter of 1905, Enzo Favara has proven himself a reliable soldier of the Torrisi crime family in the months since his initiation," says the studio about the new chapters. "Now, the Don entrusts him and Cesare with a delicate assignment of assisting Ennio Salieri, a man of honor recently released from prison and intent on reclaiming what is his." Working at Salieri's side, players will be heading into fresh environments as they return to the role of Enzo as a high-ranking soldato. The studio also promises brand-new weapons, fresh vehicles, and charms to collect in this expansion. Moreover, the expansion will add new content to the updated Free Ride mode. Alongside new collectibles and locations, this will add more challenges to beat alongside Salieri, which are described as runs that will "test the skills of even the most elite mafiosi." The Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor story expansion will release on August 14, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It will cost $10 for owners of the base game to jump into.

    • Telltale returns with The Wolf Among Us, re-revealing the sequel and a new remaster by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Telltale Games, the studio known for its episodic games from the 2000s, had a surprise appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase today. The studio has gone through a collapse, an acquisition, and a revival but has largely gone silent in recent years. Today's sudden announcement was for the popular The Wolf Among Us series, with news about the sequel and a remaster dropping. Set after the events of the 2013-released title, the sequel will bring back Biby Wolf for a new adventure in Fabletown. This town of fairy tale characters is becoming unstable, with Snow White not being able to keep order as before. "When a brutal series of crimes threatens to fracture the fragile balance holding Fabletown together, Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, finds himself drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that reaches deep into the city’s criminal underworld," says the studio. "As suspicion spreads across the city and powerful forces work against him, Bigby must uncover the truth and decide what kind of sheriff - and what kind of wolf - he is willing to become." At the same time, Telltale also announced The Wolf Among Us Remastered, bringing back the classic with a fresh coat of paint. This will include all five episodes from the original game plus over an hour of extra content that will offer behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes. The remaster will also have updated visuals and improved UI elements and accessibility features, alongside upgrades to the animations, audio, and frame rates. Telltale has been working on this project for almost a decade now, but if the new release schedule holds, fans will be able to jump into The Wolf Among Us 2 sometime in 2027. As for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, this is slated to release during this holiday season.
