Download Speed: 16.81 Mbps

Upload Speed: 730 Kbps

Roadrunner/Time Warner (Northeast Ohio/Northwest Pennsylvania)

I was told that within a month, my speed will be boosted to 50 Mbps download. :)

Should be 100Mbps (accorded to the subscription)

On subscriptions, don't they say "Up to"? That is an awesome speed either way! :)

Shaw just updated their Extreme package to 25/2.5

speedtest result is pretty flimsy.

kubuntu torrent download is fluctuating between 2400 - 2800 kbytes/s

bandwidth cap is still the same old 100GB/mo (ugh) but so far they don't enforce it... my usage this month is about 3x that :p

Let's find out what how much we are either getting ripped off or rewarded!.

ISP - Sky LLU

Speed - Upto 20Mb (but only getting 4Mb)

Caps - Unlimited

Price - ?7.50 ($12.40) a month

Sorry, but before we even start this, we need to be clear about 'Caps', you say yours is 'unlimited', but is the FUP been enforced on people with high usage? Because it's my understanding that it is. Also, make sure you say 'MB' and not 'Mb'.

ISP - Be*

Speed Upto 24MB (Only getting 8MB Down/1.4MB Up)

Caps - Unlimited (FUP hasn't been enforced on any heavy users, yet)

Price ?18

Mb = Megabit

You have a 24 megabit internet connection, not 24 megabyte.

Haven't read of any enforcements on the LLU service, and you better inform the majority of ISPs that it's MB, not Mb.

      Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

      I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
