Hello, at the begining i want to sorry for my english :p

Ok maybe lets start with my problem. I've installed on my laptop system, MS windows 10 Technical Preview (build 9926). I'm registered into "Insiders Preview" program of MS. for most of time, in windows update i've got selected an "slow ring" for recieving an newer preview versions. i have read that with using slow ring i can have problems with update to official Win 10. So i have started looking for  way to upgrade my system. i tried  few methods witch i found on this forum last two of them was:

Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability in regedit

Make sure...

BranchName = fbl_impressive

ThresholdRiskLevel = high

ThresholdInternal does not exist
ThresholdOptedIn does not exist

Restart your computer, check to see if you are on fast, and then check for updates.

If that does not work, it is an issue from Microsoft.

done. still isn't working.

1. Disconnect from the network

2. Set to Slow Ring

3. Reboot,

Note: At this point you should be getting a OS change telling you to wait

4) Reboot

5) Set to Fast Ring

6) Connect network back

7) Reboot

8) Check for new updates

Done as well and still i have no possibility to update my win 10 TP to higher version or to win 10 official already.

in 2nd method after after rebooting (step 7) i have checked my advanced options in WU and there still was Slow ring selected, after switching it to fast once more tried to update it doesn't work at all.

Have anyone some ideas what else can i do to get update.

(BTW i wasn't join to Insiders program few days ago, i did it at the begining when i've recived an message from MS, that they have run this program. Few weeks later i recieved information that i can download *.iso file with system reserved for me - it is strange that until now have not received any update to higher version. Even if i was in slow ring i should get some upgrades.)

Welcome to Neowin :) If you are activated and on a legal version of Windows 10 then you should be able to 'force' the upgrade manually. Instructions here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 (at Microsoft).

it is legal copy of Win 10 downloaded directly from MS site from adress delivered to me by MS. activated as well. I tried to force update like that but that didn't work as well ;) it is downloading win 10, then making media after that process Media Creation Tool is closing him self and nothing is happening. that's why first of all wrote this topic ;)

Ok how about this, go to your browser, change your user agent to firefox linux or firefox mac. Go to the page to download the media creation tool. When you click to download the tool it will redirect you to another page to download the finished ISO instead.

the problem is that, as many times i tried to force update by this tool i was always selecting an option "upgrade this PC" and still after download, he is trying to "Creat Windows 10 media".

That's what you need.

Anyway, you can't update trough the rings. All builds below 10130 are no longer able to find new updates for quiet a while now. You should have upgraded way earlier.

    • Exactly. They won't go 100 because current gen consoles are simply too old for any groundbreaking graphics or gaming experience otherwise. They will go with standard (console) price 70 or go with 80 if they really want to go premium. Of course they will have more expensive options too with some useless cosmetics as always.
    • Doesn’t surprise me at all. God is light & He gave us life so it sounds almost logical that we would therefore emit a certain amount of light.
    • This is what I want. Hey Gemini, how do I remove you from all my google products permanently?
    • I would never install install this build before rtm process. only 3 months to go. never install on your daily devices. just wait 3 months.
