Android LeWa phone, needs replacement OS

Recommended Posts

I found an old phone outside a bar,  moderate damage to the screen and case.  Chinese Mandarin text.  The two sim cards were removed, Lenovo A750.

Took an hour to set it to English. Phone is running Android 4.0.4 LeWa.

The browser takes US English input, but I cannot reach any websites through wifi.  Might be Data only to browse, like my Blackberry.  The app store is still in Mandarin.  I am guessing this phone is hooked up to the Great Firewall.

What OS would be a good replacement, so I can use an App Store and use wifi to browse the internet ?

I am toying around with phones mainly to play music and make movies, photography.

Check XDA-Developers for the Lenovo A750; I have heard of at least one OTHER ROM for it other than LeWa.

Still, at least your Lenovo has development activity going on for it - my TAB2 A7-30 has apparently went into stall mode after Lollipop.  (It's one of those MediaTek MTK 8-series which aren't seeing much of any development activity, due to the screwball ROM structure.)
