Vista/Office 2k7 ISOs for repair job/service?

So Microsoft has made it somewhat easy to download images for DVD-Rs or USB keys for modern Windows. Unfortunately we are still at a point where the older stuff is very difficult to find and I dislike shady piracy sites. Is there a good/safe way to get legit Vista Home Premium and Office 2007 Home and Student disc images for service and repair jobs (i.e. I have the product keys, just no media to use them with)?

A quick Googling produces several links with various levels of authenticity.

That said, in 2016, the best thing to do to a PC running Vista and Office 2007 is to put it out of its misery (possibly with a hammer).

I'm looking for you. I made a thread one time where i posted all the links to all the different versions of office. I'm trying to find it for you to see if the links on the thread still work. In the mean time, here are links to the 2013 versions

https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/73-office-2013-direct-download-links

....

Well I found the thread, looks like all the links are dead but they do still have the exe file names that you can use to search the net for.

Alright, so it looks like you can still get them via archive.org... Looks like archive.org archived digital river.

As far as Windows Visa goes my suggestion would be to go to the MSDN site and look for Windows Vista. All you want from that website are the SHA1 Hashes

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/downloads/hh442898.aspx#searchTerm=&ProductFamilyId=146&Languages=en&PageSize=10&PageIndex=0&FileId=0

Once you have those you can go explore the internet even searching using the hashes. Then once you have the ISO you can check the hash to make sure it's been unaltered. I really like a program called "Hash Tab" which puts a tab in the right click property dialog box.

I can help you out with Windows Vista which has SP2 integrated (32bit or 64bit).

The SHA1 will match what you can publicly see on Technet / MSDN so you can confirm yourself it's legit and untouched.

Unfortunately for Office 2007 I only have media for Enterprise, Professional, Professional Plus and Ultimate Editions.

Hello,

I think it cost me about $500 a year back when I had a consulting business.  That was about twelve years ago.  Has the price gone up much since then?

The Windows ISO Downloader tool from heidoc.net can download Office 2007 ISOs directly from Microsoft.  However, the tool can only download the Home & Student, Small Business and Professional editions of Office 2007 ISO images.

As for Vista, go with what InsaneNutter said, get the Vista SP2 ISO image - the All edition one, which has Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Business & Ultimate editions - ALL in one big DVD ISO image; only the product key entered during setup will determine what edition of Vista gets installed.  Note that the Starter edition of Vista is 32bit only.

OP just google these ISOs and check the SHA1 and you will be fine.

These Vista discs include all versions, but require a legitemate serial number. The file names and SHA1 are directly from Microsoft. Office 2007 you can download using the above tool.

You can download Office 2007 that matches your license key from here : https://products.office.com/en-au/download-office-2007

I've used that in the past with no issues for my customers. Will automatically match to the SKU you're licensed for.

Edit : Or you can use this link : https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/office to download Office 2007, 2010 or 2011 (for Mac)

First weekend of Halo Infinite's latest multiplayer testing rounds is now live
      by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe

Just as 343 Industries announced earlier this week, Halo Infinite has been opened up to Halo Insiders again. The first weekend of this double Technical Preview drop comes with access to player versus player Arena from the get-go, alongside the content, including Bot Arena, seen during the previous flight.

Invites to eligible Insiders, which is essentially everyone who signed up prior to September 13, have begun rolling out across PC and Xbox consoles. Those with invites can head to the Halo Waypoint Insider Support hub to get orientated before jumping straight in.

To better stress test the servers, the Social Arena playlist opens matchmaking only at specific times each day, see the schedule below:

Friday, September 24th - 10am-2pm and 5pm-9pm PT Saturday, September 25th - 10am-2pm and 5pm-9pm PT Sunday, September 26th - 10am-2pm and 5pm-9pm PT The Technical Preview closes for the weekend on September 27 at 10AM PT, with festivities starting back up on Friday, October 1 at 10AM PT. The second weekend is when 343 will engage its overhauled 12 versus 12 Big Team Battle (BTB) mode. Even though the test is Halo Insider exclusive for now, the studio has said it is planning to give out access to more players next weekend, perhaps via friend invite keys.

To give an overview of what's available, the maps Live Fire, Bazaar, Recharge, Behemoth, and Fragmentation (BTB only) are playable across Slayer, Capture the Flag, Stronghold, and Total Control (BTB only) game modes. As previously said, Bot Arena, Training Mode, Weapon Drills, and Battle Pass elements are accessible during both weekends as well.

Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One September update focuses on remote play and game discovery
      by Asher Madan

Today, Jonathan Hildebrandt, the Principal Program Manager of Xbox Experiences, detailed what players can expect with the September console update on Xbox Wire. This month's update lets you access games on PC through the Xbox app, introduces Play Later discovery, a new Microsoft Edge browser, and a host of other changes. You can read more about them below.

Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available through the Xbox app on PC for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in almost two dozen countries. Keep in mind that this feature is still in beta. You can now access your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One consoles on PC through remote play with the Xbox app. Remote play is different from Xbox Cloud Gaming because it requires you to own the hardware. Play Later discovery allows you to make your own list of Xbox Game Pass games. You can save any game you're interested in on the list and play it later. Microsoft Edge is getting updated on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One to make it faster and more secure. It seems like the updates are already available to a number of Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One owners. Be sure to check your console's settings if you haven't already, and download the latest version of the Xbox app through your PC's Microsoft Store.

The Initiative partners with Crystal Dynamics to develop Perfect Dark
      by Asher Madan

Today, The Initiative — the team working on the Perfect Dark reboot — announced that it was partnering with Crystal Dynamics to co-develop the upcoming action game. Crystal Dynamics is currently focused on additional Marvel's Avengers content, but its expertise with Tomb Raider should help Perfect Dark, given the similarities between the two franchises.

Since The Initiative is a brand-new studio, it's understandable that it's getting help from veterans like Crystal Dynamics. While consumers and critics are divided about Marvel's Avengers, Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider are regarded as two of the best action games on last-generation consoles.

It's unclear why The Initiative chose Crystal Dynamics, given the plethora of studios out there, but it may be related to the fact that The Initiative wants to mold Perfect Dark into an exploration-driven experience like the numerous Tomb Raider entries. We'll keep you posted as soon as we find out more.
