Yeah it's rediculous i mean I had atleast 6 years of stuff from just about every computer I owned on that hard drive. It was inpractical to back it up all the time cus i mean it was like 40 gb of stuff. ANd i just got this one, I cashed in my work vacation to get it. So yeah lifes great.

if those thieves dropped your monitor, wouldn't they have their fingerprints on them? perhaps you could send it to a DNA lab, get it analysed (there's a fee), get a baseball bat... :shifty:

anyway, sorry man, i know if my computer got stolen i'll be crying like a little bitch.

That sucks on so many levels man. I feel for you!!!

I stayed at a hotel once on a business trip, while I was in the shower I heard the door open in my room and thought it was a friend of mine who was with me. Well when I came out, my stuff had been gone thru and all my cash was gone, I had over a grand on me to make some purchases, oh well treats me right for caring that much cash on hand. But when I went to the hotel manager, they would do nothing about it. SUCKS!!!!!

My aunts place was broken into last year also, took ALL her DVD's DVD player, computer, brand new digital camera TV etc and we found out it was a kid who lived across the street. She never did get her stuff back.

I would go ballistic if that happened to me. I have everything on my hard drive. My life, my soul :), everything! My drive has data that was created a good 8 years ago on there. Not including all my personal movies and stuff!

Yeah, ditto. I rigged mine so that I can attach a Kensington lock to it, by cutting a little hole in the case and putting some washers behind it, so that's what I use when it's in my dorm.

that sucks so much, same thing happened to me. stole my computer, dvd player, TVs, dreamcast and 8 games, n64 and 24 games, and my moms wedding ring. didnt get my baseball cards and memorablilia, which are worth more than all of that combined. insurance covered most of it though, got a better computer than we had before. it jsut really ****ed me off that someone came into my house like that.

    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
    • Now disable that stupid OneDrive backup request when Windows starts please. So unbelievably frustrating to only have “remind me later” instead of “no and never ask me again”
    • Hello, The Media Creation Tool is still at v10.0.26100.7019 from October 2025. Just looks like the backend has been updated. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Since they open sourced the calculator in Win 10/11 it is much better and can do a lot, I love it.
