Space is hard

Anatoly Zak of RussianSpaceWeb (great site!!) looks back at the events of April 24, 1967. In his article are pics of Komarov's capsule taken by would-be rescuers. It's a multi-page article so don't forget to click the next-page links.

Soyuz-1 wasn't supposed to be a solitary mission; Soyuz-2 was to join it for a 2-ship docking attempt and 2-man crew transfer via spacewalks, but things went downhill and Soyuz-2 never launched - probably saving the 3 cosmonauts who were to fly on Soyuz-2.
