Unreleased Lumia 2020 gets full review, still looks good in 2017

Over the years, we have seen many different leaked prototypes emerge from Nokia, with most never seeing the light of day as a retail offering. Although the firm is more well-known for its phones, the company at one point also started to produce devices like a laptop and even tablets. Nokia fans are probably quite familiar with the Lumia 2520, but only some will be aware of its smaller sibling, the unreleased Lumia 2020.

The Lumia 2020 was first rumored back in 2013 when it was codenamed the ‘Illusionist’. While the details were scarce, it was going to have an 8-inch display and run Windows RT. Although it was rumored that it would be announced during Mobile World Congress 2014, it would never arrive. Eventually, Nokia would be purchased by Microsoft, which would signal the end of an era.

While we have seen the Lumia 2020 pop up over the past few years, Zac Bowden of Windows Central has actually gotten his hands on a unit, and spent some time with it, offering up a proper review. Although it isn't as modern looking as something delivered in 2017, it still has a nice stylish look and appears to hold its own in daily tasks like web browsing, checking emails, and watching videos. The device even managed to include a 19MP PureView camera although lacking a dedicated camera button compared to its smartphone siblings.

If you want to get one of your own, you can head to eBay, where there is currently one listed for $500 USD or best offer.
