Yes, Neowin has some very talented members, and they most certainly post their work in more than one place. :)

That your picture, or did you steal it from somewhere? Unless you are a good photographer and photoshop guy.

Yikes looks like I missed some controversy. But yes, this is my picture of my actual pc as taken in my living room and I do have the original raw files if proof is required 🙂 Also yes I'm cacoecacoe on reddit - cacoe was annoyingly already taken.

Thank you, it is. Just cleaned it out the other day and did a "glamour" shot because I had some spare time. Put this together based on some feedback I had -

Ain't that old, bro :)

Well, it looks like to me that the thread started January 2018. That's all I was referencing to. 😀

So, my trusty old Sabertooth Z77 died a few weeks ago.  I tried to revive it...but nothing worked (the usual troubleshooting techniques...clear CMOS, memory...blah blah).  I took a compatible CPU and memory out of my bedroom's HTPC and placed them in the Sabertooth ... but nope.  However, the CPU and memory from the Sabertooth worked fine in the bedroom's HTPC.

Long story short...my bedroom's HTPC got an upgraded CPU (3770k) and 8GB more memory ... the Sabertooth went to the trash.  But!  This all happened on the 12th of November and the next day I was heading to Atlanta to see my nephews, niece ... and ... MicroCenter!

I wasn't ready to build a new system ... but I did have a Z590 motherboard due to the NewEgg shuffle (it came with my 3080ti).  I had planned on flipping the motherboard on eBay and hang onto the Sabertooth for a little bit longer ... but yea.  Grabbed a 11700K, memory, cooler and some other parts at MicroCenter.  The remaining fans came in today so the build is complete for now.

Anyway...my interim build until ... sometime in the future...

(sorry, no pictures with the glass on ... reflections were horrible ... but it looks good)

I don't really like RGB ... but don't mind the subtle blue.  I really dig the fans ... they are the Lian Li AL120's .... they interlock with one another so you only have two cables per block (RGB/Power)... I believe you can have four fans per block.  So instead of having 18 cables ... I only have 6 cables from all those fans (3x RGB/3x power).

Anyway, system specs

CPU - Intel i7-11700K

Cooler - Lian Li Galahad 360

Case - PC-O11 Dynamic

Mobo - Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Pro Ax

Mem - 32GB Trident

GPU - Gigabyte Aorus 3080ti Xtreme

Drives - 2TB Western Digital SN850 NVMe, 8TB Western Digital Black HDD, 2TB Samsung 860 Evo and two 500-something GB Samsung SSDs

PSU - Seasonic 850W Platinum

So, here's my main workstation. It's nothing fancy, the case I just had lying around, so I used it. I found the CPU (i5-7600) for $5 at the "It's $5" store, where everything on Saturday mornings is $5. So then I had to buy a motherboard for it, so I went on eBay and found a compatible motherboard for $59.95 a Gigabyte Z270XP-SLI Intel Z270.

Then I got a Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B CPU Air Cooler, 120mm for $48 .. I LOVE this thing, it's sooooooooo quiet.

Then I purchased some Ram, also on eBay, 16GB for $62.99 then I got some another 16GB stick off New Egg for total of 32GB

Then I purchased a Samsung Evo Pro 1TB NVME ...

I had the GPU laying around it's a GTX 770. It's old but it works.

Couldn't take a better photo of the inside, because that side of the case is facing a wall.

LOOK! No RGB in the case! 10 points for Gryffindor!

This is what the other half of the setup looks like. Yes, the mouse has RGB .. I wish it didn't but it does, I also got it for $5 at the It's $5 store!

and in case of emergencies .. I have a 5th monitor on a swivel arm tucked away behind the big one.

Some of you may say this is overkill, but I prefer the phrase "Go Big Or Go Home" Didn't want to go too much overboard.
