International T mobile data ( US carrier ) Travel into Canada with international data plan but did not work.

I have a Samsung Galaxy unlocked note 4 that is from verizon wireless but it is unlocked and I use it on the t mobile network all the time in the US. I bought a T mobile international data package so I could have data in Canada. As soon as I crossed the border into Canada last month I could get text and use my phone but data would not work. I called tech support and they could not figure it out. Their excuse was my phone was not  completable. It is an excuse because they could not figure it out as I told them Samsung galaxy note 4 one of the most common phones. 

It would not have anything to do with it because it was a verizon phone but unlocked and I use it on t mobile right?

If anyone has had this problem or know the answer please respond.

      I wonder how driving laws around the world will change. No way to really tell if people are using phone. Same with smart watches i guess even now and those silly built in tablets for controlling the car instead of buttons.
