Emulator to Play Windows 3.X Games on Android?

Recommended Posts

The title is self-explanatory. These kind of games were very much point and click anyway, or the buttons you needed to use were on the screen (i.e. no keyboard necessary). But there doesn't seem to be an easy emulator to find.

What I've find so far is using WINE with an emulator that uses WINE, but they say it's best used on a tablet rather than a smartphone. I've got the time so I may experiment with it, but I was wondering if anyone here had found themselves hankering for the quick games that Windows 3.X offered but on a mobile device.

The game in question for me is Indiana Jones and His Desktop Adventures. It was a great puzzle game for me as a kid, and even getting it to work on Windows 7 was a reliving of my childhood. Unfortunately Windows 10 broke that ability. :(

If anyone has any ideas I'm open to them.

Can't you just play it in your browser here?

Just fired it up fine on my PC... When I get home could try it on my ipad, sorry no android to test it with.

No touch controls.  So does not work on my Android running Chrome.  Unless you hook up an external input

You can load up DOSBox on Android and then install Windows 3.X. I used to do this with a jailbroken iPad a few years ago. It's a little clunky, but it works.

I 2nd this, DOSBox is likely going to be your best bet

I found the site, but as techbeck said it doesn't work well in a mobile browser.

Have not used Dosbox on my android, but looks like it has on screen touch controls...??

yep, it gives you a full virtual keyboard with arrow keys

looks like the official DOSBox isn't available on the playstore anymore but there's a bunch of good forks that have improved on the original

    • XBOX is at the end of its generational life cycle and wasn't selling much anyway. They need to figure out the pricing for XBOX Helios. However, I'm not buying the DRAM shortage with AI preferring HBM. I think it's industry gouging.
