Im just using your logic and applying it to notepad. I think we both know you weren’t joking. Anyway, it is what it is and we’ve said our pieces.

New features for Notepad? Why? It' s just a basic text editor - perfect for a quick .bat file or note.

meh, I use Notepad for quick notes or for temp info at the time.   And I am guessing this will eventually become an app you will need to DL.  Probably just keep the classic Notepad and keep using it the way I am.  I use N++ for most things.

If properly configured, Gedit can be a solid IDE. The problem is it takes a lot of tinkering to get it just right.
