Daniel F. Administrators Posted January 31, 2004 Administrators Share Posted January 31, 2004 A couple of our favorite Windows enthusiast sites are reporting that Microsoft is planning to roll the "Lonestar" Tablet PC Edition alpha code into the next Windows XP Service Pack 2 beta release. Microsoft rolled out the first beta of XP SP2 in late December and it recently broadened the alpha test program for Lonestar, noting that it planned the first Lonestar beta to hit in late February or early March. So, does this mean that Microsoft is trying to synch up XP SP2 Beta 2 and Lonestar Beta 1? That would be our best guess. Both the final release of Lonestar and the final XP SP2 are expected out around mid-2004. We are still assuming they will debut as two separate products. http://www.microsoft-watch.com/article2/0,...,1484411,00.asp
nazgul
Hope that it doesn't hold SP2 back in anyway... Interested to see what they do with the tablets though, been thinking about getting one for a while.
