Bristol man loses leg after trying to kill son with chainsaw

UPDATED: BRISTOL, Tenn. — A fight between a Bristol father and son involving a chainsaw and lawnmower led to the arrest of the father on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.

Although the fight occurred on June 28, Douglas Ferguson, 76, wasn’t arrested until Tuesday because of injuries he suffered, which required amputation of a leg, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The fight occurred at a house on U.S. Highway 421 in Bristol, where officers found Ferguson, who was bleeding from his leg and head, according to a SCSO news release.

An investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division revealed that Ferguson tried to attack his son, who was mowing the yard, with a running chainsaw, the release states.

During the attack, the son, who has not been identified, defended himself by running over his father with the mower, according to the release.

Detectives said the two had a running feud.

Doubt this will spend much time in court.  Dude doesnt have a leg to stand on.

Worse, he may not have what he needs to pay the lawyer - you know they cost an arm and a leg!
