GAHHD DAMNIT!

The Edsel didn't have this many problems. Wasn't it bad enough it's the ugliest vehicle ever created, it had to be a pile of junk too?

In all honestly I am really surprised that there has not been a class action lawsuit about knowingly selling a defective product. But then again, the people who buy them are musk's fanboys.

In 2023 the Ford F-150 was recalled 57 times, 6 million vehicles.

This new one sounds like a fun ride...

https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/ford-recalls-550000-pickup-trucks-transmissions-suddenly-downshift-111396299

"DETROIT -- Ford is recalling more than 550,000 pickup trucks in the U.S. because the transmissions can unexpectedly downshift to first gear no matter how fast the trucks are going.

The recall covers certain F-150 pickups from the 2014 model year. Ford's F-Series pickups are the top-selling vehicles in the U.S.

Ford says in documents posted Tuesday by U.S. safety regulators that the downshifting can cause drivers to lose control of the trucks, increasing the risk of a crash."

Also this year, 820,000 Silverado 2500s were recalled, a safety issue with the tailgate.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/02/business/gm-recall-trucks-tailgate/index.html

In case you haven't heard, the mechanical emergency keys can fail too, and a dead battery in the fob is not a fun day either.

My take on keyless entry is all of them need redundant car-side power in addition to the vehicle's 12/48 volt accessory systems. It's only job is to make the f'ing doors work.

I wasn't responding because the conversation was going from the usual inane to aggressive 6th grade pile on crap. Sometimes you guys act like you're still in puberty.

Yet, with a dead FOB...you can use the mechanical key backup to gain entry and the dead FOB can be used to start the car (usually requires holding the FOB next to the start engine button).  Are you really suggesting that both FOB and mechanical key could fail, I mean sure...I guess...but come on.  🤡

Not shocking you came back without backing up the following claim "On some vehicles, this one a 2019 Hyundai, most are going completely keyless. "

I’m just waiting for you to back up the comment you made about most vehicles are going keyless, in reference to not having a manual unlock method.

Nothing childish nor aggressive about asking you to back that up. So when are you gonna answer me?

Says the guy who comes here and lies, deflects, flip-flops on the truth and generally just wants Musk and Trump to turn up to his gym so he can see them in the changing room…

So what. Do you think that it excuses how bad the cybertruck is?

It's a feature, not a bug.  Maybe the Tesla shareholders will give Musk a couple billion more in bonus money when they hear about this.  They do seem to live in opposite world.

Sure the tech is nice, but I cannot get over the design over this vehicle, it is downright ugly. I see so many of them in my area now and they are just hideous. Tesla is a bunch of computer nerds attempting to build a vehicle, I much prefer Rivian's approach which was car people adding tech to a vehicle.

DocMs statement is also incorrect. Ford issued 57 recalls across ALL their vehicles, not the F150. How many models does Ford sell in the USA?

Comparing a poor quality build like the Cybertruck to Ford recalls is also a bit dumb. Usually, Ford recalls are due to a poor quality part that failed or was installed wrong, or as in my case, a recall on a BMW E46 because they discovered after 20 years that the airbag could suddenly go off, (after a couple of accidents and deaths from the issue happened in Europe), and this was the fault of the airbag manufacturer, not BMW itself.

Of course it is. He never tells the truth about anything. Don't trust a thing he says.

It's a BMW what do you expect? 😛 (I hate them slightly less than tesla's )

    • Thanks, Sony and Nintendo, you effectively killed platform-agnostic gaming. Long gone are the days when you could wish to play a specific game on whatever platform you were. Now, you have to buy the hardware just to play that single game. What, you're only interested in THAT game and nothing more? Bad luck, suck it and buy our console.

    • "CRAZIER than ever!" Crazy Taxi: World Tour is officially coming soon by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Sega announced it is working on bringing back some of its classic franchises in 2023, and while it has taken some time, the company finally gave fans a look at one of these new projects at the Xbox Games Showcase today, which turned out to be a brand-new Crazy Taxi entry. Watch the debut trailer above, which has snippets of gameplay in between the cinematic bits while blasting a track from The Offspring. Dubbed Crazy Taxi World Tour, this installment is aptly being described as being "CRAZIER than ever!" The director behind the original, Kenji Kanno, is helming this new entry as well, which will come with access to five new cities to drive in, competitive multiplayer modes, a vehicle customization system, and more. Axel is returning as a protagonist as well, but this time a mystery driver is offering him the opportunity to take his adventures to the streets in other countries. This will involve Axel chasing down masked villains that have somehow stolen his taxi, which means even more extreme missions and challenges to overcome. "From transporting passengers at top speed to tackling unique side missions and odd jobs across dynamic maps, there are countless ways to drive crazy and rake in big money," says Sega about this new installment after over 20 years. "Perform outrageous drifts, catch insane air, and drive at crazy speeds across five different cities as you work to deliver passengers and complete a variety of missions and challenges." The studio has even confirmed an in-game Arcade Mode that players will be able to access containing the original games for plenty of nostalgic action. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is currently slated to release sometime in 2027 across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
    • This and Crazy Taxi are the two games that interested me the most from this showcase.
