Nick H. Supervisor Posted December 9, 2020 Supervisor Share Posted December 9, 2020 Quote Currys PC World asked to honour cancelled Black Friday sales By Leo Kelion Technology desk editor Currys PC World is facing a growing number of complaints about cancelled Black Friday purchases, which customers only learned about after the sales period was over. The firm has blamed a technical fault for causing some orders to fail even though it had sent confirmation emails. The electronics retailer has apologised for "the inconvenience caused". But many of those involved want it to go further and to honour the discounts it had offered. Source and more Oof, that's bad. Especially if people have an email confirmation saying that the order was received. I'm surprised that, according to the article, Which? are saying that Currys are not legally obligated to honour the orders.
spikey_richie
That's pretty bad press for Currys. They've been doing well the past few years, it's a better business now than it has been for a long time; at least on the surface. Hopefully they can pull a PR stunt and do the right thing. If they don't, they'll lose a lot of loyal customers going forward. Interestingly, prior to Black Friday, if you bought an item which they then price-dropped, you could claim back the difference. I wonder if they're still honouring that.
